Not sure they make them for my antique rlo...but good tip all the same ! If you mean, the size of your pipe (huh...right!?!)...lol Thomson do 27.2, 30.9 and 31.6 diameter posts, that should suit any bike really. I hope you get a dropper one day, just to realise what you have been missing...makes you more in control, have more fun, faster, safer...it really does. I was actually thinking all those things yesterday as we were going around Degla.

The hardtail I used when I first started didn't have a dropper and it felt fine going over everything
Wasn't bothered about getting a dropper when I got my new bike, but it came with one anyway
I can't ride with the seat up anymore unless it's up hill, it's horrific
Feel like I'm going over the bars on any descent and on corners all I can feel is the seat on my leg
You need to do a trail or two with one and see the difference, welcome to try mine when we're out sometime

Cheers for the offers ... I've ridden bikes with droppers on them..( even the e-bike had one!) but I'm so used to riding without that it didn't enter my mind to use it / them ... I do see the benefit as on steep gnarly stuff I always stop to lower it anyway ! To be honest for every tale of someone having a trouble-free time I maybe hear two or three tales of woe ...and that is probably the main reason that I haven't gone down that route ...and you can't miss what you haven't had ! Maybe one day ...

Maybe one day ... True...and I admire "old school" people who still manage to do everything without one! However the main reason why I say for you to get one is two-fold...you will have more fun and it will be safer for you. Get a reliable post and you will be fine...Glynn's one is bullet proof from what I always read. Keep your normal post in case something happens while it goes for warranty and you will always be able to ride anyway.

The new Reverb is meant to have gotten rid of all the (supposed) problems that the current one has!
They've upped their game with far more stringent testing and they're built in a sterile environment or some shite like that.
I'll see if I can find the details..

I have 3 reverbs... Never had issues.. I'd happily ride without a dropper... I wouldn't say they're a necessity.... Sometimes I just forget to use them... I'd say if you were a really aggressive rider, then droppers would be of major importance... For me.. Theyre a nice to have

Ok guys...might not be fundamental...but we all agree that: -they make riding safer (a lot) -they make riding more fun (even if just a bit more, which is always worth it)

No safer than a normal seat post, which is dropped via the quick release. Easier though and you can set you max height ready for climbing easier.
