Dirk is right - you won't get much difference in grip from a good pair of 45 quid pedals than you will off a 180 quid set. What you will get is 'wow' bling factor and feather light off the expensive ones. Get a good, cheapish set - if you like flat riding - then spend what you want! But purleeeease just feckin buy some!

If you spend any more than £45 on pedals, you need your head looking at..

They are a great design tbh...simple and classy! I'm happy with my choice. I also ordered two different pairs of 5/10's...elements and impact vxi to see which I prefer and then return a pair...

Sarky out of interest have you tried these. They look nice but don't seem to have many pins so just wondering if the grips good.

I have, they have plenty of grip..if you dont take my word for ask josh brycland they are his go to flats when hes not riding clipless, I think it was the 2014 cairns world cup when at the last minuite he switched to a pair because the track was a bit gloopy,he took 2nd place behind gee who I think was running saints and a borrowed pair of five tens...if they are good enough for ratboy they are good enough for me!

One very small detail about Burgtec's is the narrow Q factor, which for the places I ride (and made me change to flats in the first place) makes a difference in comparison to the Vaults, which are also wider! Those Mag Ti Vaults are sexy (when new) and at a great price at Winstanleys...but they are also limited to 85kgs...not sure you want to have limitations on a pedal which main function is to get hammered and abused!?
What I really wanted was a Silver or Black Burgtec with gold details!? Lol

Lol every now and then they do batches of custom laser etching where you can choose what you want on them for that extra bit of bling

In the end I think I've made the right decision and these pedals look really nice! Look very robust, nice simple design, narrowest Q-factor, British product...Almost a shame to get bashed! Let's hope they also perform in terms of grip as people say! Thanks for your patience guys! Lol...it was a bit of a princess moment that!?

Look good. What's Q factor? Thanks Q Factor is the distance between the outside of one crank arm to the outside of the opposite crank arm. Although Q Factor has become a universally recognised measurement, other people in the bike trade prefer to use a value for ‘stance width’ — which refers more directly to the distance between feet on the pedals. Both terms are part of the same notion regarding the width of the crankset assembly and, stemming from that, the lateral distance between feet when pedalling. If you compare the nut of these pedals with the Vaults, for example (the ones i was also considering), you will notice how these pedals get much closer to the crank arm, which gives me a tighter fit...some experts say in theory it will make you go faster, but what i was more interested about is having the narrowest fit overall, reducing the chance to hit the pedals on some very narrow techy areas i tend to ride...on top of it, these are a bit narrower than the Vaults to start with...however the Vaults have a nice slanted edge and more screws and always come on top of every review.
