Ive got a carrera vulcan which was made into a downhill bike he put bigger forks and a 29 tyre on front was just wondering if a 27.5 wheel would fit as the 26 is a bit to small

Let me see if I am getting you, you are asking if you should replace the 26 wheel with a 27.5, even though your post only mentioned the tyre.your front wheel is a 29er. Are you baron Frankenstein?
What wheel size is the bike built for, I should imagine it's it's a 26 so a 27.5 with any substantial tyre won't fit, it's been bastardised already by adding a 29er fork. I expect the frame could very well crack at the head tube the first time you drop off anything substantial.
Better to run bikes with the wheels that are intended unless you really know what you are doing and the bike is a multi format like some of the new 29ers that can also take 27.5+ wheel sets. Or 26 bikes with 27.5 dropouts and adequate clearance.

So Gazs mudguard was stolen, I thought he had removed it to save carrying that extra weight up Helvellyn.

Every downhill bike needs a bottle cage and bottle it's thirsty work smashing downhill trails like Fort William

9 x 3 is what all downhill bikes need.
In all seriousness a 27.5 tyre won't fit a 29 inch wheel.

I would personally sell the 29er fork and wheel and buy 26 ones and put them back on, why do you think 26 is too small?

According to Halfords the bike is a 27.5 unless the older model was 26. What wheel do you have on the back if it's 26 and you don't want to buy new forks try and see if you can try somebody's front wheel in there. It should fit the only thing that you can't remedy is if the frame is a 26 that the 29 forks are adversely affecting the stack height with it the head tube angles which will cause a lot of stress around the welds there. The bottom bracket is a lot higher than it should be. If you are only riding on the road it shouldn't fall apart but it's not going to run as it was mean to do.

29er rolls faster
If it hasn't fallen apart yet just leave it as it is... quicker speedz to work and back

I believe it`s commonly known as a 69er
whoever said he`d used that for downhill is either a gert big liar or he pushes his balls round in a wheelbarrow

If you are only using it for commuting - probably be ok. Don't go anywhere near a proper trail on that as it is though. You will die, with pain. Welcome to the board, Lee.
