Well it rode the dog lovely, no issues at all, hit the rough stuff fast and chain was fine. Tried out the pussy cog on Cardiac and I was barely out of breath at the top, felt like it'd climb the side of a house. Does what it says on the tin.

Hey Pez did you find it a very tight fit to get all of the cogs on? No mate - not at all - have you got the 16t cog and did you take away the 15, 17 and spacer?

I'd hold fire mate - they can be had for £25-£30 off fleabay, you just need to keep looking, I'm sure they will become available again.

I`m on me way now though, just got a 42+16 on ebay, just deciding on whether to get absolute black or mrp bling ring 32t and use use my x9 cranks or try to get some cheapish cranks and use a 32t n/w chain ring that my son in law`s got spare.

On Cardiac mate were you keeping good speed to stop you weaving all over I hate doing that on climbs but strongly considering re installing my 40t trex for time being till I can get a oneup thingy

The pussy cog is strictly for Wales and the Peaks.

right boys, got everything ordered and with a bit of luck all me bits will be here by weds/Thursday. I`ve read conflicting info regarding how many links to add after measuring chain length.pink bike quote one up and say add 2 links but they added 3 while one up themselves say 4 links.what are you guys adding? on a normal set up I go with plus 2.

I cheated and put a new chain on and measured as normal for a F/S bike. Didn't fancy having more than one quick link in a chain. Not with the kind of power I am rocking when I put the hammer down on a techie climb

Yep I'm using a new chain but when I said add links I meant when calculating the overlap, not actually adding links to the original chain.

Right - I did the air out shock and bottomed out, chain around the big ring and expander but not through the mech, added 2 links plus the power link, like this - skip to 3.10 of the vid and freeze it. I've been around Cannock a few times and Degla yesterday and the chain is spot on. HTH.

yep, that`s the method I normally use but I`ve gone with +3 this time. what I did notice when I got it set up was the dogleg in the chain line when looking from chain ring back to cassette. seeing as my chain ring bolts were too long anyway I`ve used spacers between the spider and ring and (hopefully)solved 2 problems with 1 fix,the chain line looks straight and the bolts tigten up correctly.i just need to get out at the weekend and give it a good test ride.
