I know what you mean - I don't bother with these free test days unless I am in the market for a new ride. Don't want my head turned by what I can't afford!

I've just turned my single speed into a 1x9 gona look for some 130/140mm forks and let the fun begin think I'll use it more for quick blasts then I would the single speed
only done the 1x9 due to already having everything will eventually go 1x10 or maybe chuck a one up on it incase I go to Wales with it

Started on a hard tail, then switched back and forth and now back on a full suss. Hard tails are fun but with my back never again!!

I'm no doctor, but is riding with a bad back... Really any good, in any guise? I have a complicated lover back pelvis problem and im supposed to keep hard sustained impact to a minimum, last hard tail used to shake the crap out of me, full sus makes it a lot easier. Out for over six months, easing back into it on a full suss, 6 rides in so far so good!

HT's always feel faster to me... I like to be at that point when I'm about 49% getting lucky... 51% skill ....whilst on the trails... I never seem to get the rush on the 5 ...

Well I had an absolute blast on my On One up the mynd today. I can feel it on my body now though more so than after a FS ride. Bigger smiles though!

Cannock was soooooo much fun today few cheekys mice bimble and a cafe stop bumped into Mr and Mrs Wolfe which is always good . But back to the bike after rushing the build last night after Irideabike aksed if I wanted to have a little bimble ,I have to say all I had to adjust was rear tyre pressure and a bit of a twist on the gear cable for slicker changes very impressed and really really enjoyed it and it felt so much easier to ride than the orange .
I think I am converted back to hardtail riding

Getting more from the 456 now I'm getting used to it.. Looking forward to Degla on it now! Your 'bars will snap' comment keeps playing in my mind though Definitely going clipless with it when I find some new shoes I like and maybe getting a Reverb on it.. Bobs Inbred looks mint..

Haven't ridden one and don't intend to start. Don't see the point and in the over 40's group don't think my body will appreciate it either. I'm in the very nearly 50's group and love ht's , gone steel with both a few years ago and won't go back to ally , just don't see the need for all the hassle and expense of FS , don't have an issue keeping up with mates of FS either , get the right ht and you'll love it .

Yeah, what Malamute says. I fully intend to get a HT again but strictly for short blasts around the Dog - anything longer/more demanding it's the F/S for me.

My first first hardtail for a while, nearly built now. Invisiframe added, Headset, bottom bracket, forks and cockpit set up on Sunday afternoon. cranks installed, new guide brakes set up tonight. Gearing to be done and bike finished tomorrow hopefully.
