I need a bit of advice, chaps.
I'm looking at ordering some brakes and bars today. The bars aren't a problem, I know what I'm getting.
I need advice on brakes. I've always had Hope brakes and have no real reason not to buy Hope for the Mega, Tech 3 E4 to be exact.
The problem is, I've been reading a lot about SRAM Guide brakes and haven't seen a bad word as yet. They are cheaper and look good.
So, do I buy SRAM or Hope?

I can get the Sram Guides for £116 including discs and the Hope for £170 including discs.
Everyone who's got the Guides say how good they are and all the reviews say the same.
I'm wondering if paying the extra is worth it..

What's the drivetrain running? SRAM? If so get the guides, purely for the fact you'll be running all SRAM kit!
The Hope brakes are absolutely amazing though..

The most apealing thing with the Guides is the fact I can get the Matchmaker X clamp for each brake allowing me to mount the shifter on one and the Reverb remote on the other. Just 2 clamps on the bars means a very tidy looking handlebar.

Ask Euan - he's running the Guides! So is Nelly and they both say how good they are. I'm just a bit of a fan of Hope brakes and having trouble changing that lol. Despite the obvious cost difference and raving reviews of the Guides.

I thought you already got your forks sorted bud? Did you not go for the BOS ones? I was seriously considering buying some used 2014 BOS Devilles. The guy selling them had only ridden them 4 times he claims and he wanted £850 originally! He soon dropped the price down to £650... Not sure why! Anywho, I was very tempted but after getting all the measurements together for the headtube on the Mega plus the headset etc, the steerer on the Devilles was slightly too short. A few people suggested that buying used forks for a dream bike wouldn't be a great idea and I think they would have been right to be honest. I've still got my heart set on BOS Devilles but I'm going for a new 2015 set now! I know pretty much every part I'm fitting to the bike apart from the stem... I can't find a stem that I really like that will fit in with the colour scheme of the bike.. The colours are simple... Mainly black but with a few splashes of yellow!
