Which way would you do it Macky? The only way I would tackle it is clockwise..it would be a bit of a bitch walking down Dollywaggon Pike ( almost as much as having to push up it ) ..but isn't Sticks Pass supposed to be the highlight going down ? I've never done this version before though ..just part of it ..

Not good regarding the back ...you will need it to be 100% for this ride though..it's quite punishing..and that's just the bits that I know ..

I must admit I really didn't enjoy the pushing bit up Boredale Hause and expect that's a much easy and lesser version however I'm a glutton for punishment so count me in all being well. Same here....

Easy to extend the ride if needed by adding a quick Ullswater/Boredale loop.

How long would you say this loop would take the average biker?

Extra loop is about 9 miles so a couple of hours,if ridden clockwise you'd miss the Boredale mega steep climb and get a mega steep decent instead and still get the rocky goodness of Ullswater shore. Its an easy add on as it starts from Glenridding no need to decide until the time.

i suppose we could add a bit on as an option, after we've done helvellyn if any of us feel the urge. how long is the helvellyn loop? 3-4 hours?
