Just said this on the CYB thread. I'm allowing myself a couple of weekend away days this summer - but for this, though I'm off, I'm on call out rota - so can't really plan big days away for that weekend What I'll do is...revive my original Helvellyn thread and do it late in the summer and with the overnight stay - that way, if any of you lads want to do it again, you can be the ride guide!! win win.

i suppose we could add a bit on as an option, after we've done helvellyn if any of us feel the urge. how long is the helvellyn loop? 3-4 hours? right!.....gaz just beat me to this post ^^^^^^ then our internet connection went off for maintenance. id be up for an optional extended loop after helvellyn depending how we go.

Will keep an eye on this and Zulu's thread. Might be going in April with a couple of work colleagues - if I can get my fitness sorted!

Extra loop is about 9 miles so a couple of hours,if ridden clockwise you'd miss the Boredale mega steep climb and get a mega steep decent instead and still get the rocky goodness of Ullswater shore. Its an easy add on as it starts from Glenridding no need to decide until the time. Yes!...this one... Missing "mega" and "steep" and "climb"... Is always the best option!

me and my son went for a couple of hours today on stanage edge to try some drone videoing. it was a bit of a failure to be honest, but i took the opportunty to try shouldering the bike, ready for the helvellyn hike-a-biking.

Snowdon.
Having done that I feel Hellavyn should be okay ish. Trouble is I hate the pushing it's I'm just not used to it. Plays havoc with the calves and hamstrings.

We could do Ullswater shore the other way round, riding up the nice bit of single track with the hike a bike at the top and ride down Boredale Hause?

Yes mate it'd be daft not to share. Iv carried two bikes before but id prefer to one on the rack and one inside

Or maybe better still, just take the wheels off and put both in the back

Or maybe better still, just take the wheels off and put both in the back No worries, whatever is convenient for you. I have some big plastic sheets or a piece of carpet...you've seen how i do it on my car!? Ill leave it up to you, just message me time to be ready. Of course, lets share fuel expenses, etc.
