It does seem very hit and miss on a Zee.

Zee is a shitty mech, cant even bring myself to sell mine.. Works for 40t hope expander though but at max capacity the mech could do. ...backpedallng issues is terrible when you turn on the shitty clutch. ... Have tried with slx and xt mech no back pedalling issue whatsoever
lowcogger is spot on there about working in bike stand and in trail.

I'm not sure about calling it a 'shitty mech' when your trying to use it for something it was not designed to do. I run one on my HT (34t - 11/36) and it works flawlessly.

well guys I did about 12 miles this morning, all off road, climbs, roots, steps and drop downs and my zee + 42t was fine.i was expecting it to be a disaster (took the medium xt in me camelback just in case) but the only thing that wasn`t perfect was the indexing that just needs a fine tune, shifting was down was pretty slick though.i didn`t experience any probs when I tried back pedalling either, not that I back pedal normally but I did for research purposes

I have only heard/read of the backpedling issue with the Hope one - must be something to do with the way the teeth are ramped.

Yes, never had a problem myself with the One Up but have heard quite a few complain about the Hope version.

Well I've managed to sort mine now and it's running spot on, just had to bugger about with bottom bracket spacers and put some washers between the front chain ring and spider. not sure that's what you should have to do to set it up correctly though!

Well done. I tried everything with mine, including messing with the spacers on the BB - it just was not having it.
