It's a 57. Just got it so under warranty with garage. Just have to get it back to them which is in tring! Anyone who came out via newby bridge may have seen it sitting forlon and forgotten on the garage on a590. Luckily I used to work up there and one of the lads I know got me and bike back to Preston. Back up tomorrow to recover it and arrange the transport to Hertfordshire. It sounds a pain, and it is, but cheaper than a 1500 quid bill for me. which engine is it? petrol or diesel? 2 or 3 litre...i have an E60 too and know a bit about these cars.

Just don't do what Glynn did when the machine told him they couldn't quite pick up his plate and asked him to input how many hours he was there...and he told the actual hours rather than just the minimum...lol...doh!?

i remember one section when you get out of the woods and get some speed and then get to these berms...and the drop to the right side is quite big...if you actually lose control on them, it could be quite nasty...like i said, those things never bother me but in that occasion, it made me think at least...possibly because it was also quite windy and raining a bit, made it even worse.

Looks like an even better turnout! Have fun lads...sorry i couldn't make it. Yes, in some places, those wet slabs are like butter, ready to throw you off.

its not like i didn't like it...its just that i would prefer to take less time to drive and go to Degla...to be fair, yesterday the weather was a bit shit and i was on my own which takes away a lot of the fun element. Because i pass by at least once a month i will probably give it another go at some point.
At some points, the views are great...im sure Gaz Windy gets a bit uneasy on some of them really high berms with a massive drop on the side...i did on a few points and it never bothers me...it just catches you by surprise. lol

if only you had told me before...now i have to be in York to help a mate otherwise i would have done it...however depending on what time i can get away from Cumbria i might give Gaz a shout and do it on the way back to Sheffield...if not, we can arrange it at some point.
Mech was set up at Evans...and everything was fine there and along 30min of my ride...lol....

Looking at that image it makes me want to get that OneUp 45T / 18T sprocket set since i think it would fit. If you have a medium cage mech...46T sprocket...32T N/W chainring...112 chain links...technically mine would be even easier with a smaller diameter on the top sprocket...decisions decisions.

what a day...got a new mech on the bike and everything was fine...after trying to find an alternative route due to the road closure i finally got to the trail centre just after 4...it was pissing it down heavy but then it stopped. Me wanting to do as much as i could before the sun said goodbye, off i went straight onto the North loop...30 min later, i lost 5 of my low/easier gears...tried to tinker with it but no luck...at least it started to rain at that moment again to cool me down and steam my glasses...nice...had to do the rest of the North and the South loop, most of it with my arse up in the air...lol...got confused with the signs a couple of times which didn't help since i ended up climbing some fire roads twice...nice!? managed to do both loops in less than 2 hours.
Would i go again? not sure...and if i did i would just go round the south loop more times since its a lot more fun and you can get some air on a few cool spots...had high hopes on this one since some people claim it is the best in the country...IMHO, compared to Llandegla, it doesn't even come closer in terms of the fun element...Whinlatter probably wins any trail centre for its views...but I'm not bothered with that if i ride a trail centre. Gisburn and Cannock to tick off the list next...

What combo are you going to run now then? Get a Mary in your life mate! Lol

Look at the Pinnacle Iroko at Evans. Great value for money and most important, the frame has a good geometry, a bit slack and great fun! I was helping two mates on the same boat as you, we tried loads of bikes but I knew as soon as they tried that one, that was it! It also gets great reviews.
If you have/could get Vitality healthcare, you can get up to 250 quid off!

Lezyne products are always great but expensive of course. Reason why i say digital is because this way you really know what pressure you are running...with the others like mine, and as soon as you disconnect the hose, no matter how fast or careful, some air comes out and you don't know how much so it is never accurate really. I got my pump free, otherwise if i was to buy one, this is the one i would go for because i think the extra cost is worth it. www.mojostore.co.uk/pump-fox-digital-hp-w-bleed-foldable-replaceable-battery-c2x18535145

If you are going to ride Gisburn let me know, I finish work at 12.30 so could meet anytime from 1 if you fancy some company? I think we both know that's not going to happen It all depends on what time my meeting finishes on Friday...I say 2pm maybe...so then another 2h drive from Workington to Gisburn...so maybe start at 4-30 at best! if things would fall into place, I'll let you know! As for the cobbled path...if it's bone dry (which I wonder if that path ever gets dry) and you have the right tyres and very low pressure, it might be possible! Have faith...I made it up to a point where I spun 3 times, but didn't move an inch, so game over! The slabs at the Lakes are very different to the Peaks! However I probably had the worst tyre for it, a muddy wet Ikon! Lol

Its to early for me to comment on that...but even if they do, get them anyway...what a tyre? My Hans Dampf suffer a bit from that on one side (also doesn't affect it at all i don't think) and i realised (as stupid as this may seem to you) its probably from two sharp turns i do going down to my house on the tarmac...the HD are like glue on tarmac.

North and South loops are just less than 12 miles in total and about 2 hours to ride (on yer own). Not sure on the length of the blue www.strava.com/activities/529278664Are you defiantly riding it Thursday now? Yeah Gaz...unfortunately i have to be home for saturday now so had to change my plans and no longer seeing you clearing the cobbled path on saturday.lol So I'm driving up thursday, hopefully be at Whinlatter just after lunchtime and go around. Then friday have my meeting and travel back...depending on time, i might do it again or even stop at Gisburn on the way back.

Yeah, get yourself a pump! It's necessary. To be honest I thought RS were pretty good with that, unlike Fox! I would personally spend a few extra quid but get a digital one (Fox sell one at Mojo but usually always sold out).

G ...start with the blue if you are going to do it ..and it is worth doing .. You won't do it at the end ... Is blue, south and north all doable in how many hours, does anyone know? I've read it's 24 miles in total but also that it's less than 20!?

Cheers John. I'll need to have a look since I'm planning to do Whinlatter on Thursday now, probably early afternoon. If anyone fancies joining me, please do! First time there so I don't even know where I'm going but from what I have read on the web, blue, south and north loop is the way to do it! I might skip the blue and do it at the end if I'm bothered.

You should have got a pump with it. check what pressure are you running and also how much rebound (assuming it has)? You should definitely feel the difference...
