Thanks for all of the feedback troops. Hands are ok for day to day use now but hurt when gripping tight / twisting something while gripped tight. Should be ok by the weekend though which is the main thing. The Glentress weekender suggested by chopper should be interesting though to see how they hold up over tow days.

That's a good read, thanks for sharing. I checked the saddle and stem measure earlier and it was as you said it should be.
Working on the motorbike today and using a socket wrench I could really feel it. Need to try something as this could really become an issue, it may even just be teething issues picking up biking and not being accustomed to smashing rocky sections and roots at pace.

Cheers troops, I will have a look at the set up today and see if I'm over stretched to the bars.
I actually find if I loosen my grip it makes it worse once it has started. I find that by doing that the vibration of my fingers bouncing off of the bars aggravates it. Once it has started to get sore on the trail i can only grip tight to stop it getting worse but then I get arm pump haha. Doomed if I do and doomed if I don't it seems.
Cheers for the feedback, I will have a look into this and might even pay a visit to the doctors who will no doubt just say...looks fine to me. Always find them useless to be honest, to get anywhere with them you need to bug them, get a physio to send a letter to them and bug them more before they accept there is a problem. That was my experience with my neck. Only now 9 months down the line are they accepting that there is is a problem after a raft of private physio and letters sent by the physio.

Those that were out on the ride at Glentress know that I get really sore knuckles after doing a bit of riding. They are very sore today as well. It's in every knuckle down each finger, thumbs are ok though. It almost feels like the knuckles are swollen today so bending them is causing pressure. My question to the forum is, has anyone ever experienced this or know of anyone that has? And how did you / they try to sort it? At the moment all I can think of is using some fat grips on the bars as I have ODI grips at the moment and they are quite skinny.

It really was a wet day although the weather didn't take too much away from the day I felt. It was really good to meet everyone and I will make the effort to visit your neck of the woods one weekend . Once we split off we did burm baby burm and I didn't fall off this time haha so an improvment from the first run. We also went along the blue trails which I hadn't done before which I really enjoyed. Thanks to everyone involved it was a really good day

I’m good for anytime mate as I am reasonably local. At the moment its looking like it’s just me. Local mate is away to South Africa for work and I don’t think Petrofac are going to take the shackles off my friend from Aberdeen so I don’t think he can make it. Cheers , Danny

Troops, Looking forward to the 26th , are people still ok for this? If it’s ok I have a mate that might head down from Aberdeen for this as well, more the better right?

Thanks for the comments troops, with being new to this game the comments have helped to gain confidence in setting up the shock as it was a bit daunting to start with. I have been out on this shock at Glentress twice now and I feel I am getting to grips with it. I still want to play with the settings more (HSC) but I feel that I have a decent starting point now regarding air pressure. Thanks for the help on this one

Thanks for the help and advice on this one. I have been looking around and reading up on this however I thought it would be best to ask as well. I will take a look and see how many / what spacers are currently in the shock. I will also increase the HSC a little. I plan on getting out to Glentress again this weekend so I will be able to get a good feel of things then. Cheers guys .

Sorry I should of mentioned that I had set the sag previously at 15mm. Not sure if that helps.
After I set the pressure to around the 170psi mark it wasn't bottoming out. I'm just not sure if this is the correct way to solve the bottoming out issue.

A couple of weekends ago I was out in the Pentlands when the rear shock (Cane Creek DBinline) got stuck fully compressed. The guys at the bike shop sent this off to Cane Creek and the shocks internals / seals were updated. Good news . As the shock had been updated I needed to set it up again to suit the bike so I opted to start with the tune recommended by Cane Creek for my frame (Medium Banshee Spitfire) taken from their tuning section on the website. I also set the air pressure on the shock to what I thought was correct (around 145-150psi). I was out at Glentress on Sunday and found the shock to be bottoming out. I upped the pressure to 170psi ish and this helped on the rough stuff. I am inexperienced when I comes to suspension tuning / setting on bikes. My question is, does anyone have any tips or advice for setting suspension? Any advice would be appreciated

Yea the weather was good today, nice and chilly. Wind was a pain though. Common issue....not the best haha the shock usually feels spot on. At least if it's a common issue then this should be an easy fix type thing Still properly happy with this bike. It feels right for me and can't wait to get on the more downhill stuff.

Yea it must of. We extended it back by pushing back on it then wrapped a strap round so it wasn't bottoming out and bashing itself. Once it was back to position it didn't feel bad. It was a weird one because it felt normal once back into position Like younsay say though the lads at the shop will have that worked out no bother. Will be back out next weekend hopefully.

Kev, If you are keen for something on the Sunday let me know. I might be up for the Sunday as well if you have something in mind. I could do Glentress instead although there are many sections closed for one reason or another, so we could do "other" bits as they say Well just keep me up to date on this and if you are out on Sunday I might tag along depending on how tomorrow goes
