Just an FYI as well though, don't spam your way to 20 just to use the selling section, it's not a brilliant way to show you're trustworthy. Taking time to help answer questions and join in with the banter, now that's a better way to earn my moolah!

Nobby Nics will be fine, see if you can get one for the rear. It's what I'm using atm and they're fine, only had a couple of occasions when the tyre has slipped out frok under me but that was down to my poor line choice.
I think the racing ralph (or whatever it is called) might be too fine on the tread heading into winter.

Find the location you're going to, and type it in and 'MTB' after, for example 'Bristol MTB' will chuck up searches with Ashton Court and Leigh Woods, including all the off piste downhill sections there as well.
I think PinkBike's Trail Forks application is something similar to what you've described, but it's only just really been released and is still in very early infancy.

Managed to come to a compromise with the Mrs.. she let's me tinker with the bike when my new stuff arrives, and then we can go shopping for her birthday.
I'll chalk this up as a win in my favour.

Yes I read that about it being for 'before and after'. Took the Mayhem to Afan yesterday (didn't wear it on the ride though as it was wet but 18 degrees!!) and one of the lads had an Attack (£160 worth). That had 3 or 4 small holes in it due to brambles etc and he said he was gutted at how flimsy that seemed too - he had patched it up with slime patches on the inside though which have worked a treat, he says - handy hint No 132! Afan is a fucking nightmare for brambles, especially the descent into Glyncorrwg (JetLag), last rode there in the summer and completed that hour long climb in about 30*C heat, but the final decent had the skin on my arms torn to shreds because of the sodding brambles. A great deal of pain, especially when mixed with sweat :/

4hrs gets real boring while driving! It's not so much of an issue getting there, I'm working 4am starts at work 4 days a week, it's the driving back bit that's just too far!

It could be the SRAM chain and the Shimano cassette that's causing the issues, I don't think they're actually compatible. At least, that's the rule of thumb myself and mates go by, best to get a Shimano chain I reckon. I get the feeling it's something to do with the way the links and cassette teeth are designed to allow for smoother shifting.

Not had anything so far, but to be fair when I'm clattering down the trails, I can't hear anything over the sound of the Five rattling away.

Is this too much to ask for? You'll need an Orange Five to go with it..

An Alpine 160 frame with a Float X shock.
What I will get is nothing related and probably infinitely more useful.

What I've found with my 1x10 setup is that I get into the 40t cog and realise I've got no more gears, so my body just deals with it and tells my legs to man the fuck up and keep pedaling. Happened today on a quick blast, we pulled over to have a look at a trail leading on to the fire road we were climbing, as we got back a guy on a HT rode past, we both said hi and nothing from him, he just looked at us like we were invading his little ride, so I set about beating him up the climb. Had a lovely smug grin on my face once he eventually made it to the top.

Something I've done with my saints; removed the spacers on the pins, I felt there wasn't enough pin sticking into my shoes, now though, it's awesome! Except for the pain my shins occasionally feel.

As far as I'm aware, most Air Ambulance services are run through charity and not directly though the NHS, at least the 2 in my area and neighboring county are. A quick google has brought up this: www.midlandsairambulance.com/

Blade is excellent, but it goes from Glyncorrwg, so has the epic hour climb from the off. Amazing decent (JetLag) back to the visitor centre though.
Trying to get the time and fitness level for W2. Will do it this winter though!
