If you cannot feel the scratched then they may polish out or at least dull it down without damaging the stanchion. Try a glass polish first before you use anything more aggressive.

Just a note for future ref Al unless you live local Stainburn is very short, packed with features but I wouldn't drive big mileage to go.

I got back today and thought right that was a good ride and I feel good, I'm gonna live a bit more healthy. Erm it lasted 5 minutes I realised we needed some milk and I'd just put car away so the only other liquid in the house was beer so I've been on the fosters train since around 1.

Bike wise I got a turbo trainer for the frequent shitty weather we get, plus the new forks I got earlier in the month. Other prezzies where the new house to us both and the new bambino due in February:) plus the useful socks and undies and a first aid kit.

Zee mech is nothing like any other that shimano make. Its a different design to most others. It's like a frankinmech but it does feel good with the SLX shifter.
I've got Zee shifter and mech on my Commencal and it feels too easy to shift? Where has the Covert with the SLX shifter is spot on. I used to have Saint mech with XTR shifter on my Jekyll and that felt nice and quick but again the shifts are dull.

Zee shifter is rubbish I have one on my hardtail but its no where has nice has the SLX I have on the Covert, The shifting is too vague and numb like its not actually attached to the mech! works perfect but I prefer the SLX with the solid click up and down. Thanks to Richie for advising regards the SLX I don't think I would have anything else to do the job.

Have you emailed Transition? They are quite accommodating and may send some out free. At the end of the day if you give them the frame number to confirm you own the bike at least they know the decals ain't going on some beat up newly painted shockwave trash bike.

Drakes are my local, had 3 bikes upto now from them:) excellent guys Matthew the owner keeps asking me to go and work for him but I have too much on my play at the moment. Bike looks good mate seen it a few times I keep looking at the 5 RS in the corner every time I go in it just beckons me over.

The covert is better from 2013 when the rear travel went upto 160mm before that I think they where 150mm.
I've not been on any SC so I'm not gonna compare. Although I do love my Covert it's a surprisingly good all rounder.

Not downsized has such Nelly just gone back to factory Geo with 160 front and back, never been a lover of air shocks although my last was on the Jekyll it didn't feel like an air shock, previous to that was a RP23 and I wasn't blown away.

I'm in 2 minds I have the DB coil on at moment but don't wont to mess with the setting just in case it messes it up. On the other hand I can sell it and buy a RC4 with a ti spring and get it right for me cos the adjusters are easy to mess with.
Opinions on which one or am I been silly and should stick with the DB

certainly does Matt, if Id have known it was that much I would have changed them when I first got it.
I'm sure when people say 20mm either side is safe to go up/down for the geo? I don't think they take into account the difference in axle to crown height.

Well I got some new forks, I went for the 36s RC2 but in 160mm They look stunning with the heritage stickers on im just waiting for a new hope brake adapter and then I can get out on it and see what its like now. The difference between the 180mm and 160mm is massive I thought the 20mm wouldn't be noticable WOW this is why im struggling on the ups...

The setup I've got at the moment is 1x10 RF 34t NW front and 11-36 rear with free ride Zee mech.
Any recommendations to go 42t on the rear or smaller on front???

By the looks of it it's gonna take ya a couple of hours. From looking on my iPhone maps from Sutton bank to guisborough woods by car is 51mins, walking is 10 hours:( bikeing cross country has the crow flies possibly 2-3 hours??
But I've never done it so I don't know what obsticles are in your way and what the terrain is like.
