I've still got my Lev, it now sits in a cupboard collecting dust. I've not used it since I got the new bike.

To be fair... The Reverb is probably the most reliable post available when you consider the amount sold VS complaints.
I'll guess that 95% of people who have one, have no complaints..

That's not what the tinterweb says - just look on here, how many on here have had to have work done on one? I'll bet on here alone it's a lot less than 95%. Anyway, doesn't matter as I've just done the Dog on it and it felt really good, I love the feel of it, especially the handlebar switch and the lack of play in the post and it'll do me, I realise that that is no guarantee for the future but that's yet to be seen. LEV now have a UK distributor and service centre (Jungle) so any issues will be sorted without having to send back to the States. It impressed me so much I've decided to get the Ti model - which is really light and in black . Had a word with a friendly LBS who is happy for me to do it on the C2W scheme and while I'm at it I'll be ordering the X fusion slants for the Merida ( I have to find out if the frame will take 140mms or if I'll have to stick with 120's) so's I can have a HT back for the summer. It'll be a 1x10 job with a pussy cog. NOT a rockshox sheep

I've yet to decide wether I want to put the LEV I have now (DX model) onto the HT or just have a standard post. If I decide to try and keep the weight down on the HT I'll likely sell the DX and just have the Ti on the Chief. Why haven't you tried to sell yours Euan? what model is it?

I could argue my point all day but, I won't.. Mainly because I can't be arsed! I'm sorry you had 1 Reverb out of god knows how many thousands sold that wasn't up to scratch.. I can understand why you've been put off RS products but, I'll also never understand it (hope that makes sense). Until you get rid of that RS shite you've got on your bike though, you're one hell of a hypocrite Cia

Yeah, I could argue my point too but I also can't be arsed But I reckon at least 50% of the peeps on here who have one have had warranty work or a replacement. Doesn't matter though mate as you are happy with yours and I'm liking the LEV - happy days. I know it sounds daft to be refusing to use a Reverb whilst having RS stuff on the bike but that's purely a financial thing, I can't afford to replace them as I need to convert the Merida back to a HT, anyway, it's the Reverb that pissed me off and I'm pragmatic enough to carry on with the forks and shock as they are working really well right now. I can tell you for certain though that if/when they need replacing it will be with a different make.

I have 3, and have had no issues, my oldest is 3 years old.. Up to my newest 6 months old... But I have to agree... There's definatley a trending upwardly pattern of malfunctioning Reverbs..

Mines is the original Lev, 385/125 31.6mm. I just never got round to selling it, it's sat in my spares bin for a time when I buy another frame that will take a 31.6 mm seatpost

I'm happy that you and Jay have had no probs mate, why would you change something that you like and works well for you, but off the top of me head there is Nelly, Ergaz, me, Kalli, Munky who have all had issues to one degree or another, there maybe others too but as a quick straw poll it'd be interesting. I'm not out to start a crusade against RS this is just a decision I have come to for myself and I won't be rubbishing em either. I hope you all have totally trouble free ownership of your RS shoite err components

I'm in agreement with you Perry... I feel lucky, I know numerous folk ""in real" also.. That have had issues... I'm hoping it's due to the amount they sell, but other than the Thomson... They're really isn't a better seat post.. It's just fact!.. The Fox Doss is awful!! I was unlucky enough to own one, and soon got rid!.. Felt cheap and naff!

TBH, i'm not overly impressed with my Reverb ether, it's no where near as smooth as the Lev

You'll have to have a look and a goo on the LEV next time we ride - I'm not just saying this but the quality of the build is at LEAST on a par with the Verb and the action of lever and post is superior, IMO. I'm trying to be honest and if I really thought the Verb was better I'd say, honest. Of course if the LEV breaks after a few weeks I'm back to square one but first impressions...good.

Actually, the only thing I can pick wrong with the LEV is it is silent! no 'Thunk' when you raise it a la verb, quite disconcerting at first as you wonder if it is up! sure when I get to trust it more it'll be a good thing?

If I'd not owned another dropper then I'd be well happy with the reverb. If it was a choice I'd go with a Thomson every time, it was faultless. As for knocking rockshox, it's one piece of the pie that's a bit undercooked, the forks and shocks I've used now and in the past have been bang on. I loved the lyrics and love the pikes I've got now. The monarch was brilliant, didn't miss a beat as opposed to the fox ctd bag of balls I'm using at the minute. I just think you've been a bit unlucky having trouble with so much of their stuff. I've been on their website and there's a tab called "we hate Pez" which may have something to do with it.

I wish I could have gone with the Thomson mate, just didn't have the option from Rose. As for knocking Rockshox products, I'm not. I love the Pikes and the Debonair and am in no rush to change em whatsoever, it's only the Verb I have an issue with. BTW I had a chat with a friendly LBS today and he is willing to let me get the Ti LEV on the C2W scheme. I might change my mind yet and get the Thomson but the Ti has a black post . While I'm at it I'm going to turn the Merida back into a HT, always loved the frame and am going to bung some X Fusion slants on - 140mms if the frame will take em, Merida ain't a trendy name but it's a bostin frame IMO. Would have liked new wheels on the Merida but by the time I have bought cassette and chain 1x10 shifter and pussy cog won't have enough left out of the grand. Next year then.

No, that's a fair point - but I want to be more aggressive and with 140mm forks over 100mm it might encourage me a bit more. Fatty is too 'niche' for me - I want a decent HT that I can take to any trail centre with a bit of confidence it can do it all. I did CYB on an XC Cube with 100mm but I didn't like it much I'm not very aggressive (or much good on a bike, tbf) but I'm going to do a skills course this year to maybe give me a bit more belief in my ability, I think confidence is my biggest problem on a bike. Confident riders are aggressive riders.

I've got a grand mate - he hasn't given me prices yet (LBs) but I'll be looking at 330 for the LEV ti, about the same for the X Fusions? I've got a spare 11-34 cassette and a chain to bung on (I'll use that and when it wears out get a 11-36) so all I really need is a BB and crank set. I'm not going mad as I said, this is no special build just want a capable, lightish, HT.
So say I spend 700 on post and forks, probably another 50 on bits (narrow wide etc) I've got around 200ish to spend on BB and cranks - any suggestions?
