Where is everyone riding this weekend?
I'm taking the GoPro down to Wharncliffe Sunday morning, its going to be a very wet, muddy, snowy shitty session and I cant wait. Although I hope it doesn't ruin the nice pink bits I have on my bike, that will not be cool

I thought..Cannock!...just for a change and to mix things up a bit.
It will be on the SS rigid though so will be a real slog.

Nowhere unfortunately ...down to 1 vehicle temporarily and the missus needs it ! The rest of the crew might be riding the eastern most point of the Cheviots at Bewick Moor if there is enough interest ...if not we will go next week ...

Suppose that's the curse of living close to a decent enough trail center, hard to justify a few hours in the car anywhere. I always think how nice it would be to have a decent loop on my doorstep but at least being hours away from anywhere means that it doesn't really matter where I go, in the car between 1 and 3 hours wherever I want to be. Means that last 18 months I rode; Pines, Greno, Wharny, Rasen, Cannock, Gisburn, Hammers, Forest of Dean, Cwmcarn, Bike Park wales, Penmachno, Snowdon So far this year its been Cannock, Wharncliffe, Next week Hammers/FOD then Bike park wales mid Feb, two places I need to go this year are Antur and Revolution and hopefully I will start exploring the peaks a bit this year. Love the variation that living in a shit hole gives me Out of all the locations however I would love to have Hamsterley on my doorstep Also need to try Scotland on a few weekend trips as im missing out on probably the best riding the UK has to offer

Sadly I'm not riding this weekend, I've got my third 0430 start Saturday followed by an 0630 start on Sunday. I am venturing to Afan on Monday to take on Y Wall though, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

I'm Building trails Sunday and putting together the stuff that came in a big box from Andorra this morning. (AAAActtually it came from France, and was made in Taiwan, but then you would never know what I was on about)

Some roadie intervals, and the pumptrack/skatepark with a foam pit tomorrow to try and learn one of the drop ins at 2.49, but from standing. The plan is to do that off the top of a trig point to start a video I'll be filming soon. Could look decent, could look terrible; I'm really not sure. www.pinkbike.com/video/287017/Then to the Wrekin for some runs with #alltheweapons Sunday.

Blokes at work (Derby) take the piss out of me but I can RIDE up to the start of the Donkey in 3 miles. Why the feck would I want to drive anywhere? especially this weather? I go to different places in the summer but even then, once the off piste dries up at Cannock - why bother? I reckon I haven't even touched 50% of what's at Cannock yet.

Do you never get tired of the same old trails ? I have some great riding on my doorstep ..but love a road trip and taking on something new ..the travelling and anticipation are all part of the deal ...especially if it is a natural ride out on the moors , hills and mountains ..with fantastic scenery .. Open your eyes and broaden your horizons ...you may take a completely different outlook after your Snowdon trip ...

I've been riding Cannock for years now and can't wait to get away from the place for a bit! There's a whole country on our doorstep and I can't wait to ride more of it!
Peak District, Lake District, Cumbria, Scotland.. No way I'm spending all my time at Cannock with all that a drive away!
