I was going to ask the same question, thought you were going to put xt mech on Michael? No mate, that would just have added more expense, and I quite like how "dinky" the zee is. Seems to be working ok, might see if I can get a pass out for next weekend if you fancy going to gisburn? Peaks?

I got mine set up perfect with a short cage zee mech that I`d borrowed from big lee. I`d taken the washer out of the B screw but realised that it would adjust fine even with the washer in place...so I put it back on...and refitted the B screw...cross threaded...bollox

I can't get my head around this...so an expander cog works with a Zee? despite all the manufacturers recommendations?

Maybe mate - I know I struggled with a long cage XT on the 42t.

I`ve got the 42t and on the work stand I managed to index the gears spot on with the zee.lee`s got the 40t on his nomad and he`s never had any probs running a short cage zee.
yep, mine was running fine but the mech`s always looked ridiculously long even though it`s a medium xt. I`m hoping the lbs may be able to rescue the zee for me,either that or I`ll have to take it to work and see if I`m delivering to any friendly engineers in the next few days.

I`ve managed to drill and re tap the B screw.the gears are indexed there or there abouts, changing is quite slick but it just doesn`t look right.i won`t know till I ride it as to wether it`s going to work but I`m thinking there`s not enough chain being taken up on the cassette. any opinions?

on roundies not low coggers, but that looks strained too, would this eventually not wear the tension on the mech?
