Sounds ideal on the day - still warm for climbing though so plenty of stops for us fat lads! Still loads better than freezing and shitty rain. Can't wait.

I'm going to try the Go Pro on the lid too - never tried it before but I've come to realise that the chest mount, literally, gets on my tits too much for me to use - it's why I didn't take it to Snowdon (which I regret now). So I've decided for this ride I have to be able to record it. So apologies in advance if I look like an even tubbier telly tubby on the day.

So a last question for you Neil - is there anywhere to get changed? can you use the public bogs? just wondering as it'd be a more comfortable drive up in 'normal' clothes and to get changed there, otherwise I'll come ready for action, oo-err!

Cheers Neil - I'm no stranger to hanging around the gents Gaz that's why I asked mate - we were seriously caught out that day at Penmachno weren't we? Didn't help that we were freezing and it was pissing down but getting me poor, iced rain shrivelled nadgers out whilst stood on the only bench on that feckin trail is not an experience I (or anyone else tbf) would like to see again.

Hydrating ready for thursdays ride Ha ha my preperations for the big day will be very similar Glynn. Tomorrow is our 26th anniversary so on the hottest day of the year I am doing an anniversary BBQ for our little family in the afternoon...with beer...burgers.... and more beer. Then it's up at silly o'clock to get to Steormy's gaffe. Nothing like getting them excuses in early, I say.

Its looking like less of a sun problem now, instead high humidity up around 90%, we will be sweating like Greek bankers climbing up that hill. Plenty of water, tablets and gels on standby.

Have a great day, whatever the weather it will be a blast. Don't envy you climbing the Calf in this heat and humidity but it will be character building!!!! Enjoy :-)

Enjoy :-) The more I hear of this 'character building' malarkey the more I'm wondering what the feck I've let myself in for! They said Snowdon would be character building. If that means honking up and feeling like I'm dying....then I'm in!!

Which route up did we take last time, A or B. A is shorter but steeper... But I have a feeling we did B..? (still a long push, but not quite as 'character building' as a push/carry up Snowdon) Green scribble marks car park/cottaging facilities for those inclined not to dangle bits in the open air..
