Mike, macky, roundie and mr cogger are you lads still up for it?
A couple of my local pals may join us as well if there's no friendly match for their footy team.

No problem Michael if you want to head over hebden way another time give me a shout, first time I can after this will be the bank holiday weekend though. If you any pals or any other of the Yorkshire massive want to come well get it sorted. If the weathers not great at the time we can do stuff from the hebden side only but it's more up down u down up , you get the idea.

Can't get there for that time john got something on first thing. Not been out much anyway so wouldn't be able to keep up. I have a new mobile too as switched jobs so hopefully more time for riding now as the office is two minutes from rivington. Will text you the new number. Mike

That's a shame mike but will catch up soon. Exciting regards the new job, I know you was getting a but down with the other one, even better it's closer to home and handy for a ride after work.
Catch you soon .
Ps you would keep up don't worry about that, there's no racing snakes, well only chopper and Russell, and we wait for everybody there's no rush, more time to drink in the scenery.

This will be the first time out for a group ride with us this year ..so good to see him again! ( it may also be his first ride ..but don't read too much into that ..he is a fit lad ! )

Just been swapping txt's with Nick for the last 30mins ..turns out that he has had no car for the last 4 weeks and has been cycling to work with a rucksack full of tools ..which bloody amazed me ..I didn't think he would have room in there after the fridge full of food he keeps in there as standard ..( Russell ..you think you eat lots on a ride ..this bloke could give you lessons ! ) Reckons he hasn't cycled so far since he was a kid ..deep joy ..another one who I will see from a distance ! Hope he makes it down ...

More the merrier!
I went for a poodle around there last night, not the exact same loop but most of the good bits. Was a beautiful sunny evening, 99 % dusty dry but the same problem area on Delphi lane was still boggy followed by what can only be described as a short ride down a flowing river bed. I expect it will be much the same on Saturday after some rain tonight and tomorrow.
Waterproof socks may be in order. There's a river crossing as well by the way.

My waterproof socks have a hole in them ! I will carry a spare pair ..but unless it's freezing cold I doubt very much that I will use them ..it's quite refreshing at times .. As for a river crossing ..it wouldn't be a mountain bike ride without one ..!

LOL Not that there isn't a good spot or two for some Dogging action around those parts but I meant pootle, I'm pretty useless at typing on the Ipad and the spell check/predictive text makes for some comedy cock ups.
The rain is hammering down this morning but due ease of mid afternoon and stop in the evening, sunny day tomorrow yay!
Word of warning theres no toilet or facilities at the car park we are meeting at.

.... Word of warning theres no toilet or facilities at the car park we are meeting at. Thanks for that warning Kirky, I'd been meaning to ask that very question and forgetting to do it... Double dump for us at the Holiday Inn then... have you got any air freshener Neil??

Remind me to travel up wind of you Graham!
You should be okay coming from the Holiday Inn, only 10 minutes travel, I just thought the toilet situations worth mentioning for anybody coming further, in case you think Ill go when I get there before we set off on the ride, theres a service station on the M65 (about 25/30minutes away) petrol station with Subway and loos after you come off the M65 and sat nav should take you past. Or if you miss the turning for Hurstwood the next village is Worsthorne and theres a few pubs and just down the road back to burnley theres a public toilet.
Failing that loads of derelict barns, bridges and wall on our first longish climb up of the day.

Just stumbled across this collection of Hebden sections, some of them must be cheekys and fortunately for you guys I don't know them and wont be going tomorrow. good clips though and lots of comedy offs.
Chopper, I doubt ill get a pass out for Sunday morning so watch this from 3.03 its heading straight out of heptonstall down northgate at the Church (ask your sister) its the famous blue pig section, down the narrow section and directly across the road is gnarlier part of the blue pig, turn right at hardcastle crags go up through the car park and back down the bridle way back to the boom of the road.
From 3.03am blue pig, very good section but a bastard climb out of Hebden to get to.
