I know about the toilet situation at the car park, someone I know had to go over the wall within 100m of the car.

Mike, macky, roundie and mr cogger are you lads still up for it? A couple of my local pals may join us as well if there's no friendly match for their footy team. Sorry John I'm at the VW festival on Saturday so can't make it I`d have tried to made it for this but I`ve a combination on going to opticians followed by taking car for mot & service.

Glad to report the gang all got back from the ride safe and sound, everybody coped well with the distance and climbage. Some how there were no injuries or mechanicals and not too many offs, just one shitty one (eh Hodgy).
Great to meet everybody again or for the first time in the case of Dave and Jean, enjoyed the company all the way around, hope every body enjoyed it and travelled home safely.
I will get some clips up when I can but from a quick flick through they need a serious amount of clipping to cut out the bits of hanging around chatting, not the best viewing LOL.

Kirky ..many thanks from the dog shit kid ! It was an excellent day & ride ..some tough climbs ..but equally some cracking descents ..and great to ride in an area which I had never visited on a bike .. Great to meet Kev too ..the man is some rider and you both deserve the tag " mountain goat " ..no slouches either when the trail turns down ! Just as well Glynn & Russell couldn't make it as there could have been a bit of an injury with you lot trying to out-do each other. As always great to ride with Colin ( even though he abandoned me in my time of need ! ) Dave , Graham...who definitely has his mojo back now that he is on flats again ...and an extra special thanks to Jean ( who didn't abandon me) ..when I landed on my side into the most revolting pile of dog shit ..half way down Peckets Well ..greatly appreciated ! You really find out who your friends are at times like these ..lol Thankfully there were some loos close to hand when we hit the road and I was able to wash my top , shorts and gloves The first thing I did upon arriving home was to run a steaming bath and scrub myself pink . ...oh one other thing Graham now has the title of champion snorer ..the noise is industrial !! Cheers again everyone ..it was a great trip

Videos incoming.
This is the first and one of only a few taken at a reasonable angle.
the trail after the golf club that eventually drops you on the main road between tod and Hebden.
ill drop them all on here.
Pecket Well. Kev rolling in from the steps ( show off) im still stinging like a bitch from the nettles at the beginning, this is where Hodgy landed in the dog egg.
vids a wee bit shakey, any ideas of how too fix this. I was wearing a chesty, the bracket was firm.
The stones at the end of delf lane.
Gorple gate to Hurstwood res
short man made trail at Hurstwood car park. great footage of Grahams back side.
The soggy sections includes comedy river crossing.
The windy broken road from Stoodley pike down to Hebden.

Thanks Kirky for a phenomenal ride and for waiting for me! Def one of the best rides I have ever done This is what the forum is all about - now how's about a Cheviot ride to say thanks before the winter shit kicks in? - bring that fellow Scot along to keep Grumpy Graham happy!

Good vid Kirky...looks like the wilds of Borneo in places with all the greenery.. I think you may also have found the culprit ..that black Labrador and it's owner looked way too smug ..and both had a knowing smile on their face.. I'm having a word with our Scicilian hit man ...The Don Jaconelli..we will see who laughs last....!

Sounds like you had a mint day, we had a good one too on the dons mystery tour, I thought I had lost Paul at one point when he decided to try the submarine technique in a huge Slaley puddle

I'm having a word with our Scicilian hit man ...The Don Jaconelli..we will see who laughs last....! That was just the village idiot, I think, walking up the trail and when warned he just carried on regardless with his dog wandering about. It was the section from behind the farm that drops by the railway line, the one with the large drop at the first switch back corner.
The Dog stool incident occurred down Pecket Well, myself and Kev were down there for a good while thinking somebody had a puncture or a major off and then we smelt you coming!!!

..yeah I realised that it was a different track ..but what's the chances of a seperate bod walking a dog on a different track at that time of day ( ! ) .... I reckon he did the biz on Peckets Well ..and was about to set another trap on that one when we got there before him and foiled his cunning plan .. Anyway too late now ..the contract is out and my Italian friend is going to hunt him down like a ...erm ...dog ..haha

Don't have a clue as to how to stop your chest mount from shaking ..maybe slow down a bit you whippet ! Hadn't realised you had the camera rolling on the river crossing and didn't scope it first ..barging my way past Dave ..and then wimping out when I saw how deep it was !

kirky iv found that for the really lumpy trails its best to mount the camera on my helmet.especially on days when its not bright sunshine.then again mine isn't a gopro so cant cope with much other than perfect conditions without the same thing happening.did you have the vid quality on the camera set on HD?

Hey all. I thoroughly enjoyed this ride, even the climbing... and the descents of a completely unfamiliar stony character were great to get to grips with, and I am also happy to have stayed on my pedals (mostly) and wasn't the one having a soft and smelly landing this time..! Glad to meet you too Kev tho' slightly disappointed you didn't look like your photo at all Nice job with the fast film editing Kirky, the fast vertical blurrrrrr brings it all back quite vividly..! I swear my eyeballs were halfway out of sockets one or two times Can't think it could be possible to get a better route for seeing all around this area which I've really never visited before, good job and many thanks Kirky. And as always, now it's the day after a great ride, what's next..!

Well that's me finally home, the dog missed me so much my specs went flying off my face when he pounced on me i was totally wiped out on saturday night, two beers then ZZZZZZZZZZ, a long day in the saddle after a long layoff but totally enjoyable, thanks to John for the organisation ( you'll have to mount the go-pro above your belly and not ON it as thats what's obviously causing the camera wobble ) I think my favourite section was riding down the river, a first for me, just a pity there's no video, cheers Lads n Lassie good to meet you all, and yes Graham glad to dissapoint you that i don't look like my (old) avatar, i don't think that guy had seen a bit of exercise....ever

Nice yo see you again Kev, thanks for travelling so far. I'll try to get upto Gt sometime soon. That soggy track is in the wet feet video, about a minute 40 in but not the best angle. Ps. Are you saying I've put weight on with the belly mount? I think I have actually I'll have to shift it

Are you saying I've put weight on with the belly mount? I think I have actually I'll have to shift it Ahh yes so it is, joking about the belly hahaha, head mount is the best option i think, any footage i've seen using head mount is usually the best i've seen as you tend to keep your head in one position when riding, aye maybe we could organise a Pentlands/GT ride up here before it gets too wet as the pentlands aint tyre friendly when its had prolonged rain, maybe get Euan involved as he knows the place better than me, a good natural place to ride followed by a trail centre ride the next day for the fun factor

Thoroughly enjoyed the ride, great part of the world for a rattle and roll. Good to meet up with you John and Kev, don't think I will ever catch up with you though you were both just too quick on the downs for me. Still a bit knackerd today although we did go for a walk yesterday morning before heading north and have just played badminton for couple of hours. Bikes still need cleaning too. Hopefully we'll meet again on another ride, thanks John for showing us around it was a good day.

Trying to work things out from the graph that Kirky produced would appear to show in excess of 4000 ft of climbing ( roughly ) ..anyone got a more accurate figure ?
