That's a shame Neil.
Have you seen a physio with it, they much more qualified to tell if something's a sprain, irritated or caused by a movement or needs proper medical attention than the quack. They'll take a look at your range of motion what's causing the problem and would be able to advise some excercises or movements to improve the situation.
I was just resting and considering going under the knife at the doctors suggestion last year when I thought I had a cartilage or ligament problem, turns out it was a bad case of ITB and taping my knee caps and some excercises over a few months have helped greatly, it hasn't gone altogether but a day or two sets after longer rides helps. Generally the pain I used to experience for days after a long ride is 90/95% better.
Well worth £25 for an half hour session with a sports physiotherapist.

Hadn't really given that any thought ..however my nephew is a physio ..working in a hospital in Darlington .. On second thoughts it might be easier to see a local physio .... I will see my " regular " doc first though ..hopefully this week .

I'm sure your nephew may be a good physio but the key really is to see a sports Physio, same basics but their they are much more specialist in issues caused by movement/sport and effecting a change which will remedy the problem. Also a lot quicker then going the doctor/NHS route.

Hey Roundie ..I never did know the route ..it's Ant that does and I checked with him when I was looking doubtful and he still intends going ..there are others from up here going too .. On top of that Kirky now has the gpx file ..so I don't think the ride is in doubt..

Just to add that I also gave the GPX to Windy and he did the ride last Saturday and enjoyed it and plans to travel up with me on the 10th so theres plenty of guide option should Ant not be able to make it.
It may be worth doing a roll call next week to check whos planning on coming. Hopefully there will be a large group of us.
Are you planning on coming with mrCogger Michael or anybody else?

Due to a situation which I don't really need to go into here, I am not able to 100% commit to this ride at the moment. I think the likelihood is better than 50% that I can make it, but I have to stay flexible for this coming week as I am needed elsewhere but hope that does not extend into the weekend. I hope to have a better idea by the middle of the week and will keep you all posted.

That's good news Ant . A further update ...Jaco has indicated he is going and Dave & Jean will be there if the warranty issues surrounding Jeans bike are resolved ( which they are hopeful of ) . So there should be a good turnout ..no word from Colin yet ..AndyR said he was going a while back and I've not heard any different ..and I will try to find out about Nick ... Graham as per his post will not know until later in the week. I'm at a family bash now on Saturday..having a steak in my fav restaurant in Newcastle ..Sabatini's ..so every cloud and all that !

I'm feeling really peed off as I've been looking forward to this but showing no signs of getting back to reasonable health. Back to the doctors tomorrow to try and get to grips with my problems (health wise).

That would appear to be the postcode for the visitors centre .which is not where you are meeting ..I have tried to find a postcode for the Moor Top car park ..but can't ! It's about a mile or two from the centre itself ..hopefully someone will put you right ...
