Borrowdale bash with a lot less Tarmac, we were going to do this route in the Summer but decided to wait until there were fewer people about (walkers) I know Hodgy is up for this although he was a little concerned about daylight, having done this ride at roughly the same time last year it shouldn't be an issue but I think we should maybe aim for a 9.30 start if possible, anybody else interested

I'm interested but that's one early get up for a 9.30 start. How about we bring lights and do the last hour potentially as a night ride if need be?
Just need to check my wife's off duty to make sure she's not working the weekend, will know towards the end of next week.
Ps how does the route hold when it's wet?

It's mostly stony ground with a few grassy bits, can't remember any mud so no problem if it's wet and I think everyone has lights so I can't see a problem,

As I'm not out next Saturday ..I'll be up for this ... It's a bit naughty Gaz ..hence no record of it (!) .. You also need ninja suits to ride it ... Just back from Berwick where Tynedale rugby club u13's had a good victory ... I made a complete tit of myself at the end of the game when the coach kicked a high ball which was getting away from me ..and I ended up belly flapping much to the delight and mirth of spectators and players alike ...mud all over and lunch plans out of the window ! Good laugh though ..

Keswick ..but you have to guess where ...haha If it was in the summer it would be a case of wherever you could get parked ...

Keswick blimey that's a bit of a drag but hopefully should be worth it. Normally plenty of parking along side the park road and always lots of space on the pencil museum car park.

Well that was to the point That made me laugh Never one to use two words where one will do ..he has however a very dry sense of humour .. I think it's because he only has trees for company during the week ...

I've only done this ride once ..but not the naughty version which cuts out a load of the road section ..it's a great ride ..but when we did it if you thought it was wet yesterday then that was a mere trickle in comparison ...bloody snow on the high point ( Honister Pass ? ) and the downhills were more like raging torrents ..well worth the trip though if you can get one of the lads to come up with you ...

It didn't matter in the end yesterday ..we had a great time! The hardest part as always when the weather is harsh is getting started ...the only time I would seriously consider not starting a ride would be in a force " something " gale ..I fucking hate riding in strong wind ... Rain ..well you just get wet ....

Here is the fully cheeky route: www.strava.com/activities/410804390It's a hike a bike up Cat Bells, and obviously when you get to Braithwaite you can follow the cycle path next to the A66 back to Keswick rather than complete this route!

That looks a good bit longer than the version I remember Rach ..(congratulations again on your achievements this year! ) .. If the moving time was over 6 hours then we are going to need to start at sunrise !...over 6,000ft climbing ( gulp ! ) ... Windysurfer was reckoning on 3,000ft .. I think that version might have to wait for summer ...haha
