Ah I see Jack - don't do facebook so hadn't seen that. Hodgy still got the symptoms but I've got the first of a load of pills to try, plus a bomb load of info to get through, the plan is to try and tack down what's causing it so - at least there might be an end to it.
In short, no, still retired from riding anywhere but Cannock but with luck, that might change in the New Year.

That's good news zulu and hopefully you can now sort out a best work around and how to treat yourself. Buscopan will be your friend I think unless the docs prescribe something to take more regular.
When we met at bowerdale I thought you already had IBS or maybe from my own experience it and symptoms you mentions I must have assumed that you also suffered.

With regard to the riding ...I thought ( can't remember the thread ) ..that you were bidding a fond farewell to riding altogether ... It's good that you got to the bottom of it though ( pun very definitely intended !! )

Yes, Kirky they've given me something called Mebeverine to try first, I'll see if it helps. Neil you hadn't imagined it, last couple of weeks I was giving up any hope of cracking this but the Doc today was very positive and helped raise my hopes for maybe a return to some kind of normality, so I took the post down. It's pretty debilitating at times and doesn't really go with MTB but I'll see how it goes for a few weeks.

If you wanna do cannock Join me and gaz for the run and ride event on Sunday 3rd Mass social ride and its free Or me and a few mates are going on Tuesday 29th Sure gaz and Jay etc will be up for a lap round to I can't see anything about this - where is it advertised? not on the run and ride site I can see? I might be up for this. Had some good news today, as some of you know, I've been having stomach problems for a couple of years now, where it has got to the point where I daren't be too far from home (perhaps you understand why I've been ducking the forum rides recently so much). After blood tests and Docs over the past few weeks I got told today it is 'probably' IBS. So it's not cured but hopefully it's nothing more sinister either. I still can't be riding much further than Cannock atm but at least there seems a way forward for me - so yeah - might fancy the 3rd. Today has been a bit of a weight off my mind. Still can't see any details though? Nice one Pez . It must be a massive weight off your mind

Okay let's go for the hebden route on the 2nd then.
I ll start a wee thread nearer the time and drop details of parking etc just check Gaz which is easier for you to get to as we can start the ride from either the hebden or hurstwood side, hurstwood is nearer for me Gaz and probably mike but you are coming the furthest so it's fair if hebden is quicker then we should start from there.
If you do a google of worsthorne, burnley or hebden bridge and let me know which is quickest for you.
We should also keep an eye on the weather as most parts are okay in all weather due to being hard packed crag tracks however hebden itself is prone to flooding so may make getting there tricky and there are couple of sections which are bit wet at the best of times. Oh and the river crossing can get a bit deep can't it ?Glynn?

Okay the plan b could be Rivington but we can sort that when we get nearer and check the forecast. There's plenty of options around hebden anyway.
I think you would like the San Marino if you went there but it could be busy with dog and new years resolution walkers.

As she like more cx type riding or is it crazy rocky ? I know h hubby was keen to get out with us again as he liked it ? Just an idea

Cheers Ste - you've no idea! I'd convinced myself it was something worse to the point I kept putting off going to the Doctors - stupid I know but that's how it was. I can be a bit more positive now.

Just an idea The techy bits are far trickier than anything at Gisburn last weekend. However she could bypass the pecket well descent by carrying on the road as we climb up for a couple of miles just to come down it. Likewise there's one other bit (the zig zags ) that maybe too much but she could walk down it and it's not overly long. The rest is either up hill, or very much rillable. If she likes xc she would like pretty much higher 90% of the loop. It's basically the full Calder dale classic loop with pecket well and maybe around near Stoodley pike added on. It's been in Mbr magazine so the route should be on their site.
