Hi john looking at the weather and the way things are up hebden, way I'm going to pull out mate and do a peaks ride on the 2nd Jan pal be looking at a 20mile loop .

i'll be in bed after nightshifts, but keep a look out for nick, they often ride the peaks on weekends. hebden bridge looks a right mess at the moment. no surprise as in some places round there the river banks are higher than the main road.

I just noticed how badly hit Hebden has been. No way through the tow to Todmorden other than a three hour detour over the tops apparantly. www.hebdenbridge.co.uk/news/2015/242.htmlMy closest area of shops looked similar, luckily I've not really been out since the 23rd. |

Looks like it's all about 2016 now for me. Was supposed to be out for a plod with Beans today but 2 days ago I felt a cold coming on and it's a feckin doozy. Hacking, racking cough too - having so much trouble breathing I had to sit up in bed last night as I couldn't breathe laying flat, proper chest infection now. Gave up at 2.30 am and came downstairs drinking tea and watching shit films. Just gonna write off whats left of this year. FFS. |

Feeling a bit better today and managed a good 15 hilly miles on the exercise bike without too much coughing up. Hopeful of making this. Will confirm for sure on Friday. However I'm pretty confident and would only be put off by storm like weather as I could opt to ride the Sunday instead. If all goes well gaz (windy) and Mike are both welcome to rendezvous and stick your bikes on my roof and travel down together. Traffic shouldn't be to bad so we can meet at 8.30am. At mine if you like and just leave your car around the corner it's safe. You can even hose your bike down before sticking it back in your boot if you like. Gaz it's okay to clean it after a ride it won't fall apart!  ? |

No problem John will speak to you Friday to make arrangements and check you. Are still going. Pick my new bike barge up tomorrow. Well not really new it's a 2003 A4 so I just need a Santa Cruz on the roof and I have made it. My next trip then will out to llandegla to ride round the car park and put it back in car lol. Dave may join us on this yet as well if he can get his fat arse off the couch.

Up Roman road down the beast back up the beast down spud ally Up passed rowlee farm down lockerbrook to derwent stop at fairholmes tea break Up the slabs grindle cough up to whinstone Lee tor drop down to the pub Then we got a choice back the way we came last we with Glynn with a. Big climb up toward Roman road to rip down that again ... ? or a little cheeky to drop down and miss Roman rd or most of it out .. Or that bloody screaming mile climb where Duncan had a flat .. And down hags side back up the beast again grr to come down Roman road ? Will be a bit of hike n bike guys  |

Sorry guys going to have to bail on this as my wife's been quite hill Ll yesterday and night and still rough today so don't know if she can look after the kiddies tomorrow.
I'm still feeling a bit rough myself and although I may have been okay I don't want to regress due to the heavy rain which is forecast for the peaks for tomorrow.
If the Mrs recovers and I feel better than I may have a more local ride tomorrow.

I won't sorry have been told not long ago our godchildren are coming over to see us, apparently I was told about this but I think that is just a forgetful woman speaking. Not seen them for a couple of months, they are only coming at 4PM but I don't think I will be back for then looking at the timings and the advice to bring lights. Sorry guys but I have carried a couple of days holidays over to next year and will keep an eye out for midweek rides to use them on. Happy new year all.
