Alright lads.. If Nothing crops up I should be OK to join you on this one? .. I've ridden Reeth for a couple of years as only live local-ish. So can help on guidance if you start struggling or running out of daylight , but doubt it. No snow up there today , but there is some forecast for tomorrow .

Jeez glynn I was struggling getting my head around 3900ft. Did the alternative route back over Grinton involve going over a mountain?
I hope it wasn't my suggestion if taking in the apedale route, if so I recind the idea.

must admit john, its more than i thought.i thought the return was going to be an easier option. as i say we can alter it with our local sherpa daz, or just take the easy riverside route back on the road , but i always prefer to finish any ride with a good descent told you i wasnt very familiar with it round there

3000ft climbing last Wednesday and felt I could have done some more. Supposedly only 1500ft today and felt totally shagged out.
Triple that does seem somewhat daunting.

john dont worry pal.as i say there are bailout options back, for anyone who feels they've had enough climbing by the time we've got to gunnerside. there seems to be quite a good number of us, we'll all help each other along. im looking forward to it, i havnt done a big ride for a while.

To be perfectly honest the first climb / push wiped me out and I didn't try to save face by staying in the saddle ..I was off and pushing!!

Haha it transpired my garmin or strata tried to rob me after a auto correct it was nearer to 2900ft. Oh well only 2100 ft short. Thing is gaz I'm all in after these rides it's not like I could whizz around and do it again. Anyway like glynn says we will help each other out and if we do some of the same climbs as the ard rock they are so steep it's quicker to give in and push up anyway so that reduces the climb in a way. We need to rename this rides glynns Ardersier rock.

Glynn I just noticed that bit of zig zagging around at the top left corner, gunner side beck, we seem to climb 750 in 3 peaks within around a mile and a half, is that intentional eg up and down some quarry type terrain or a blip. Don't mind a blip if it saves 500ft.
The last descent looks good on a graph not over keen on what goes before it. Lol.

Yeh i sort of tried to show 3 slightly different options there as im not sure which one we take. Any doubts and we just take the first one marked as a bridleway
