Surprised you need a fork switch, i never have. Do you run them really soft? I reach for the shock switch all the time though. I know what you mean about the 650b drop. When on the 5c it just didn't keep the momentum and i didn't feel fit enough for the bike. You'll get there chap. Agree about the sram, so much smoother. I just measured the forks and they are 170mm stantion but 160mm advertised travel , it felt like i was only using 150mm travel as there was about 20-25mm left of the fork ?? is this normal on fox ? i know on Rock shox you use all the stantion , my 34's 140mm on cube measure 160mm but only use 140mm .

I've never used the last 10-15mm on my Pike 160's. I'd rather they ramp up than bottom out. Cool I think I've got them sussed out out now and I just set everything to soft and did my sag , and went from there . They Don't feel as firm and I also had to much air in then i had them pretty firm at 110psi and now they're at 95psi .i may get both the shock and fork upgraded for the climb switch for shock and the 3 position switch that's been announced for the 2017 forks .once they are available .

Why do my forks measure at 170 (bottom to top stantion) and once I get all air out of the fork there is only 5mm if stantion showing ? Is this normal .

FYI
It costs 199 quid to get the switch put on the X2 shock (and coil) at Mojo...including a full service. Which means the tiny lever costs 75 quid!? F£$@ that?!?! Call the police...these guys are robbing people and not even writing for night-time to come!?

As much as it looks good - I won't buy Fox suspension parts ever again. Overpriced rip off - there are alternatives out there every bit as good for half the cost. Fox = Apple. Rant over.

I must admit I'm always more drawn towards rock shox for the balance of performance, relative value and longer service intervals.
Do fox still advise that their forks are serviced like every 200/300 miles or wach month or something?

Yeah guys...but....but....that gold Kashima! LOL... The thing that really annoys me is that we all know that Fox could have brought the X2 straight away with a climb switch like the CC...but its one of those commercial decisions..."let's bring these out and let all those suckers buy it first, and then when we milked it enough, we release the version we actually want to release!"...(imagine with the best American accent so it is even more annoying!? LOL

Yes, annoying when you think of the dollar you pay as well (and yes, Fox do make lovely looking gear - much nicer on the eye than RS) and yes, they tell you to service every 3 days - or summat

When ordering the Strive I had the option to get the Fox equipped one which looks great, but I would never have tried to maintain them the way they are supposed to, I am way to lazy for that.

LOL Was the X2 not originally designed for downhill use? Also the original CCDB Air never came with a climb switch, that came around later

its actually mojo ripping people off as its 3rd the price to get a service in USA from fox themselves and fox state 125 hours/or yearly . but i did read somewhere that in reality its a load of bollocks to average joe its more like 350-500 hours . I do think you can just get the service kit and do it yourself . www.ridefox.com/service.php?m=bike

also to note 70mm stem fitted and the bike now feels like it should , not gone for a ride but i could tell just by riding up the street that my head wasn't hanging over the bars lol , the bike now fits like a glove , front suspension and rear suspension set up . i will miss the climb switch on forks i have to say but rear is fine and no way am i spending £200 for a switch and service when bike is only one ride old and there wasn't a lot of bob . im more interested in getting a climb switch for the forks though but not at those stupid prices .

how long was it to start with? i have to say, 70mm stem on that bike with that geometry doesn't seem adequate to me...maybe you should just given it a bit more time to get used to it!? Did you ask YT, what is the max stem length the geometry takes? (on mine it was 50mm) But its your bike and if it suits you, thats what matters of course.

I felt myself leaning over too much as some people have a longer reach , i have an inside leg of 29 but i have a longer body and arms and it was 50mm to start with .even my missis says i look likely to go over the bars lol . I like it and it will give me a ton of confidence . A few on the YT owners page on facebook say YT say what ever your comfortable with . i will keep the stem in case anything happens .

Killie I have the Pikes on the Chief and they don't lockout either (though they do drop to 120mm, which is a help) tbh I don't really miss it on the forks - as long as the shock locks out - jobs a good un, I reckon.

Before i took out the capra i was all disappointed on no climb or lock out on the rear shock but once riding it its bloody brilliant and never ever bottoms out either .i will get used to the forks i guess or just make the compression a little firmer .

Did you try moving your saddle as far back as possible? when i bought mine, i was between sizes, and could go M or L...decided to go M for better manoeuvrability, with a 40mm stem, but i have to put the saddle quite back...i find that basic setup test of elbow at the tip of the saddle, stretch arm and hand towards the stem...longest finger up to half your stem...perfect!...of course with these things, the handlebar width and rise also plays its part...bike geometry is so complicated innit!? i wish i could one day get a proper setup done...
