getting back into my mountain bike and now injury free (touch wood) So new bike time . My cube stereo has had a major upgrade over the last 18 months since i have had it but its still not pushing my buttons and it still scares me with its speed and not so good turning when wanting to turn (came off due to this a few times) rode a few 27.5 bikes and im fine . perhaps its cus im only 5.10 and its true what they say that 29ers are meant for giant people . dont get me wong i love my Cube stereo it looks the bollocks with the XTR gear and brakes & Renthal carbon handlebars. so i have £3800 saved for a new bike . maybe £4k (then im well and trully skint as not long spent a fortune on a Custum water cooled pc that looks the bollocks too with its 3x 1440p gsync 144hz monitors . so i have narrowed it down to these . I did have my heart set on the Santa cruz bronson CC frame and then take of the XTR stuff off cube and then buy forks and wheels and seatpost . £2799 for frame (may try for finance), £500 for forks (pikes), £700 for wheels (DT Swiss XMC1200 Spline) , £200 for dropper so the 4.2k spending hits a halt there . then i would just turn the Cube back to standard 2x10 XT and brakes that came with the bike and sell for highest price i can get . or get the bike that has won shit loads of awards ,The CAPRA race pro (its a thing of sexyness i must say and on par with the Santa cruz for looks) or there is the original choice last year the Canyon strive 9.0 race complete bike or the frame . or the epensive Yeti which is very nice in the flesh . www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/strive/2016/strive-cf-9-0-race.htmlwww.yt-industries.com/en/products/bikes/enduro/553/capra-cf-pro-race?c=92www.ubyk.co.uk/santa-cruz-bronson-cc-boost-148-frame/31016www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/strive/f-strive-cf.htmlwww.ubyk.co.uk/yeti-sb6c-boost-148-raw-grey-frame/23239never rode a canyon and never rode the capra and rode a 2015 Bronson , felt very confident even though it was a large and a medium would be a better fit . i have rode a yeti , think it was a sb5 alu though and felt cramped on the medium . I do like the Capra but im always going to be asking myself what if on the santa cruz .and the santa cruz would be the bike to keep for like 5 years . I also thought about buying the capra and then stripping it and then buying the santa cruz frame then built it up using all the capra bits as its would be cheaper buying this way than buying complete bike for 6.5k ,but then what if dont get the 1.8- 2K for the Capra frame that i would want for it. at the moment the santa cruz would be an expensive build . my head is saying capra then gret the sc frame in 18 months - 2 years . as its a complete bike with amazing stuff already on it . my heart is saying both the capra and santa cruz but only if i can get the SC frame on finance .

Did the ard rock and got bored of seeing Capras. They do look good though, again maybe overkill for most trails.
Canyon strives look good bug unless they have truly sorted their act out they can be useless with delivery dates and the shapeshifters have been problematic.
Why not just build the bronson and sell your stereo frame and forks, you are more liley to splitting it than wasting time and money buying replacement basic parts to put on it to then only have to sell at a ridiculously low price to shift it. Most people have parts and look to ch age the frame so frames are fairly easy to sell if in good nic and priced right.
Forks are even easier to sell and especially 29er as there's nit many around, if they are pikes you will have no trouble at all in getting 300/350 good used condition.

Defo go Capra, it seems everyone has a santa cruz, gets boring to look at... Same with Capra...and like John says, they are usually a massive overkill...but without any doubt, the best value for money. Love the Yeti but i not sure its good for UK muddy grounds...(this has been discussed here previously). There are also other options with SC...Hightower with 27.5+...etc. Seems a bit silly to fork out all that money on a bike to then a few years later buy a SC...and the YT will lose its value a bit since they are "cheap" to buy in the first place, if you know what i mean?! Looks like your heart says SC, but your head says YT...i know which one i would choose.

According to my own experience and reports of canyons customer Service. You may think you are getting a strive. .. if it turns up or not is another kettle of fish.

Jim Buchanan from Enduro mag just posted on Instagram a bike for sale! Spesh Enduro with Enve's on! "Make offer" it says! 3.5K...29er large! The Enve's are half at least!

Thing is im also bored of the XTR , its not as good as i thought it would be , no as smooth as sram XO1 or XX1 .

Sorry dude I thought you were taking the good stuff of the cube, didn't realise you still the had the originals to replace them with to be a full bike. Sadly it's tough to sell used bikes in matter the condition due to the amount of good deals and credit availability on new bikes.
Good luck though.

I'd go for the SB6C, but at £3100 frame only, you won't get much bike for £4k. if i got for the sb6c the bike will be a slow build as the frame and forks would be it for 4k or until the cube was sold as i would also be set on the DT swiss carbon rims at £800 . im 95% sure on what im getting now . just hovering over the buy button lol Yeti will have to wait until i live in the desert lol as where i am it will just get clogged clogged and more clogged . the plan is me and the family are moving soon and mabie forest and Ae forest will be on my doorstep and i will be riding lots and lots , not just mountain bike as also got a road bike for fitness. im injury free now , shoulder and knee is holding up . but my fitness now is damn awful .

None of the above.... If you are thinking of a bike in the S.C. stable...do yourself a favour and at least test ride the 5010 before making up your mind ..a truly great bike just got better this year ...

I'm also hearing a lot of very good things about the 5010 SC as well - I'd look at that too. Thing is, there are so many good bikes out there, it really has to just come down to what floats your own personal boat, you know what you are going to be riding, what type of rider you are so what bike will be best for you. Anyway, you have bought a road bike, so I'm out.

All of the bike he has short listed are 160mm travel so I don't think he wants a 130SC.
I would say if it's to be a one and only bike then the Capra supposedly didn't pedal as well as the enduro for a long day in the saddle and that wasn't the most efficient over a 20/30 miler. The bronson is said to be such a bike, however if something excels going down it's bound to have to give something up elsewhere.
I love the yeti but that mud collection tray on the bottom pivot just where there's a lit of tech at work would put me off

Im buying a full bike , a 160MM travel bike . missis says i can keep the cube too (as she can use it when she gets bike on the bikes) and the scott hardtail for trail fitness and for flat trails .just need to sell the spare bike bits i have . the bike could be something i havent listed on here yet , as do like the Intense 275c to , also the Mondraker foxy or the Dune .or there is this this is at around £550 more than the Capra . but comes with XX1 gears and you can choose your wheel set and reverb size at no extra cost .

Saw one of these out today Evil bikesbloody gorgeous (though I thought the owner had gone a bit far with gold chain and brake hoses - just my opinion) also an Intense. The Intense in particular I would love to own. Your shout though.

Honestly? I'd avoid the Capra. Is it a bad bike? Hell no, but it's insanely common, get something a little interesting! Another reason against the Capra/Canyon, no LBS support, yeah they'll service it for you etc, but you lose that connection with a shop you've bought the bike from.
As for the Yeti, it might get clumped up with mud, but nothing a hose down/huck to flat couldn't sort. It's not a delicate little flower that needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap, it's a mountain bike that the company have spent an absurd amount of money testing in all weather conditions. It'll be fine.

I have never seen a capra yet (but not been mountain biking in while) but on the facebook YT owners page a few further up north (Edinburgh/Glasgow) have offered me a leg over on theirs . I seen so many yeti's its unlreal and more common than santa cruz . The Yeti , its a nice bike and perhaps the ultimate bike along with the Intense Tracer 275c to have but then sticking £250 wheels on and then putting a second Hand gear and brake set on just wouldn't feel right (if bought frame with cash) so it would be on finance just for the frame only as then all the cash i have can be spent on the DT swiss 1200 spline carbon wheels and X01 12 speed gear set and Magura MT7 brakes .

The Tracer, if I had the money, would be my dream bike. I am a bit surprised that there are no dealers in the UK though, that would put me off a bit. As I said though - if I win the feckin lottery - that's the bike for me. Utter bike perfection in my eyes and it seems it lives up to the hype as well.

I'm not sure where you're based but Start Cycles in Newcastle are a Intense dealer and have the T275c in store but not in a race build.
Thanks Lee

Oh right - I was only basing the no dealers in UK on the Intense website info! they show zero dealers in the UK - weird.

i will rephrase lads its the frame only option on the intense there are plenty with the full builds but now way am i paying double the price for full build when i can build the same spec for half the cost . take the factory build for instance , its XX1 with XTR brakes , and the same wheels on the capra costing £800 the 2015 verision had £2000 enve wheels .
i can build the factory spec for a lot less than 8k lol
