I think they look quite good and at £1300 they are about a grand cheaper than a set of Enve's

yup...and thats RRP...wait for Xmas when CRC starts to do better prices...im sure they will sell them for 999...however, they have the same weight as my ST's...for apparently less comfort...interestingly, they also put those on the XC category and not All Mountain/Enduro... The best thing about Mavic's are the cool spokes...i won't be getting some!?

I'm still an alloy fan when it comes to wheels so i'll most likely give these a miss too

Not sure these are as nice as i was expecting...but a new option for carbon rims...since they have bought ENVE, i would think the same quality is to be expected... www.mavic.co.uk/wheels-mtb-xa-pro-carbonHmmm but mavic hubs??...

I never had a problem with mine (they also look good...lol....and the way the spokes are laced is quite intelligent)...fingers crossed will stay that way...however i noticed on the last ones, after a year, the rear was starting to need a new bearing...once i told by a mechanic at Evans that they are notorious for developing a tiny bit of play, but that it is actually normal and not to panic. This is another one of those things that heart takes precedent over mind...i only buy them because of their looks...even though they are good of course...bearing in mind if you damage a rim its 90 quid alone...obviously Hope hoops with Pro 4's are the wisest choice out there i think. ENVE's are for true bike tarts...but we don't have any of them here...oh wait a minute...lol by the way, i wonder how difficult it is to get these bearings and hubs serviced on the Mavic's?

Ive always gone for Hope Hubs, because they use bearings i can obtain at work for free mavic have let me down more than a few times. Their rims have always been solid though!

Hope is always a very wise and probably best decision... Ive spoken to various mechanics and they all say the same, that Mavic rims are very easy to set up tubeless, no doubt!... Even though i damaged a rim once, I'm sure with any other rim, the damage would have been much worse... maybe thats another thing ill have to learn...how to service Mavic hubs, or at least change their bearings...

Its like most bike services or repairs... you do it once and its really eazy after that. The only thing i dont bother with is wheel truing. I havent the patience with my aggression!..

Is that the same profile as the Enve's tho...from the same factory? Certainly makes it cheaper! Lol

i imagine there are a few types of rims they make... For the leading manufacturers... this rim doesn't have the same profile as a 50 60 or 70

ENVE make rims for ENVE in an ENVE factory in America. They don't take rims from other manufactures and put ENVE decals on them! The only rims made in the ENVE factory are ENVE rims, they don't make rims for others!
Mavic and ENVE are owned by the same company but that's where the similarity ends. ENVE don't make rims for Mavic and Mavic don't make rims for ENVE!
Another example of a similar arrangement is the fact that Fiat own Ferrari!!!
Comparing a rim on Ebay, being shipped from China, to an ENVE or Mavic rim is probably not a great idea.. I'm not saying they are no good but I personally wouldn't like to risk it. I'll take my chances on my M70's that have a 5 year warranty and lifetime crash replacement.
I totally agree that ENVE products (the same as FOX and Santa Cruz to name a couple) are ridiculously over-priced..
If you take half an hour to properly research ENVE and their manufacturing processes, testing procedures, design ethics etc, you may begin to understand why people buy them..
Like I've always said about my M70's, I'm glad I bought them and I don't regret it for a second but, due to the price, I probably won't buy them again!
I'd be looking at NEXTIE who are a proven carbon rim manufacturer.

I'd like Enve rims for a dream bike... Who wouldn't... Probably wouldn't dare ride it though, in case they got scratched.

Riding wouldn't worry me...but I've just seen a few stories of damaged rims...you would cry! And I'm not entirely sure of the advantages...weight is almost the same if not the same...supposed to give you a harsh ride...
But they would look awesome on my Hex...!? Lol

Advantages? You look like a mountain biking God!!... Not heard of any issues with Enve personally... No doubt there will be haters on Google finding something to slate them over.

I know a guy who cracked one and it wasn't even too hard of a ride or smash...also read some reviews on enduro mag where they mentioned they had some problems from new...albeit in this case, it was resolved quickly of course. They do look great...specially on CK hubs. talking about bike tarting... www.pinkbike.com/news/cross-country-tech-world-cup-xco-2-germany.htmlhow amazing do those rotors look?!?!...and they do a Ti version...lol

yeah...Enve's look great no doubt...but with CK, they would get over 2 grand...(if bought and brought from US, 2K)... it looks hard to find a place in the UK who sells them, specially with CK hubs?
