Whats the point in making these trails so tight?
Bike mags e.t.c are always pushing wide bars short stem. When you finally swap out your 'outdated' cockpit for a wider set of bars, you can no longer ride your bike on the trails! Seems stupid to me
Are all trail centers like that ?

We're not really talking about the official trails.. The natural trials are a very mixed bag and include some fairly tight squeezes! There are only really two tight spots on the marked trails at Cannock Chase!

Yeah my local spot which are all non official trails run close between trees, by that i mean if you slide out the berm / too hot round an off camber corner, you will hit one, however there's no sections where you wouldn't be able to pass with a 800mm bar... Would love a crack at Cannock as it seems pretty popular on here but there's other spots which i'd want to try first

What iRide says. The natural stuff around the Cannock trails is great, I love it. Lots better than the marked trails. And yes a lot of it involves shooting down some very tight wooded singletrack.

Just a quick update..
Forks and wheels all ordered. Both will be around 2 weeks!
Saddle also ordered.
So now I have all the parts I need to complete the bike... And sooner than expected (assuming wheels and forks are delivered when expected)!
I thought this thread was getting deleted but as it hasn't, it would have been rude not to update you all!

Chris King hubs and Flow EX rims for now!
I need a month off spending money on bikes so will get an M70 in March and the other in April along with some CX Ray spokes. Then, the wheels will be rebuilt!

Need to chase up the forks and hopefully, my wheels will be here soon. Still getting Enve rims, just not yet. Need a month or two without spending on bikes first.

Bit pi**ed off about this build now..
Woke up this afternoon to an e-mail from Stif saying that they don't have any idea when the forks will be with me! They are waiting for a BOS delivery and it was expected in the middle of this week (4th Feb) but, in their words, "there's no sign of it and we have no idea when it's coming".
I'm looking around now for other stockists in the UK..
Wheels.. When I ordered the wheels they let me know that they didn't have stock of the hubs I wanted and they would need to order them. It on;y takes a couple of days they said.. Anyway, they have been sent the hubs but, instead of the 142 x 12 that was ordered, they were sent a 157 x 12.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
So, probably won't get the wheels now until the arse end of next week. Mind you, without forks, it's not a problem!
I'm still going to start nailing it all together on Tuesday and/or Wednesday and I promise I'll have some pictures for you!
I really wanted the bike for Snowdon but, at the moment, I'm not sure it'll be ready..
I've got Whinlatter on the 28th and I doubt it'll be ready for then.

Only takes a day to build, plenty of time to get all your bits together, Snowdon is like 2 and a half months away?

It would have been nice to have it for Whinlatter but I don't think I will unless I can find some forks somewhere! The wheels really aren't a concern, they'll be here late next week or early the week after. Stif couldn't say when the forks are likely to appear though.

Not having much luck mate, can't believe manufacturers make it so hard for you to give them your money! only in MTB.
