On BOS, I have and wouldn't go there again. A shock took 8 months to be repaired. Service intervals on the fork were bullshit as well. That's a surprise.. How was the shock when it was working right? Was it just the servicing/repair that was a bit hit and miss? I was looking at their Deville forks and I've read nothing but good things about them.. Servicing and repair are still a bit crap apparently.

But even he admits that he is dreading them needing serviced or having to deal with something when it goes wrong… as has happened with some of his friends.

I honestly can't find a single bad review of anything BOS. Yeah, servicing etc seems a bit crap, as you said, it's all over the internet about that.. Surely a company like TF would service them though? As for repairs.... Well, not thought of that yet.

TF used to service them but I believe they binned them in the end due to them being crap to deal with

His haven't yet, as they are new. But his friends have - I don't know them personally. Nobody else in the shop/coaching team will touch them. It's a selection of pikes and fox up here, with fox taking the lead.

The performance is very good when it's working, I'm not denying that, but when it doesn't it is a huge PITA. It's really not worth it, when the Pike and Deville are so closely matched. The difference is that Rockshox warranty is superb, there's loads of user service material out there from them (and any monkey could service them) and all the suspension service will service them. Really not worth going for BOS. Pike's way cheaper as well.

Really fancied a set of Devilles

Hahaha..
Even if I did like Pikes, I'm after 170mm and I don't think Pikes come in that flavour!?
And I'll stick with my Vectra, thanks lol

I like pikes, just like Fox more..... Budgets aside I'd always go Fox, but if I was looking for a solid all reliable build on a smaller budget, be deffo Pikes..

BOS I just think they look special
As much as he knows his shit and can ride better than the rest of us you cant take getonyourbike's advice as he rates everything he gets from his sponsors as the best thing ever. This isn't a dig as I know you have to. If you were given a bike dressed in BOS it would be the best thing ever
And again any bad things said about BOS are, "the guy I know that has em hasn't had any issues but he has friends that were screwed" 2nd or 3rd hand information. There is a reason that on complete builds the entry levels get pikes, then the high end ones get BOS (YT, Commencal) or Fox (Mondraker)

The whole of the internet can't be wrong when they say Deville forks are something special.

They say that Bos and Pikes are on a similay level when it comes to performance, they also say the the new Fox 36's are meant to be better than the Pikes, I wouldnt be surprised if the Fox 36's are a better all round fork that the Bos's

I'd go for em if it's what you want. I agree with Nelly, if we all listened to what others say we wouldn't buy a car, go on holiday etcetc. Sometimes you have to find out for yourself. If it's a special build you're after then I'd deffo give pikes and fox a miss and just goo for it.

I've also seen THESE on the Fox site but can't find a price..When I open these the internet tab says they are for 26", seem a bit overkill at 180mm as well

Apart from all the good reviews of the Deville's, it's also the fact you don't see them very often. Pikes and Fox forks are everywhere, obviously because they're good forks.. The exclusivity of the BOS Deville's would be a big bonus for me! I've just been given a link to a company that will do a full service on Deville forks for £95.. Repairs may be another story but, I've never broken a set of forks yet.. I'm going for BOS
