its not [edit] so much the miles jack, theres plenty of climbing and descending with this route. just thought of another route that i dont think you've done gaz for another time. its a cat and fiddle/macc. forest route. its white peaks but feels more like dark peaks

oh yes!.............. this is my suggested route gaz but its your ride. if you prefer to do it different just say. start at hope, roman road, then either beast, blackley hey (spud alley) or a cheeky through the woods near to beast (some call it narnia). rowlee, suicide brake, fairholmes, flagstone challenge, whinstone lee tor, then if we're doing the longer version, up to derwent edge to lost lad and back to derwent res. fairholmes cafe stop, up screaming mile, hagg farm switchbacks, up wooler knoll back down to hope. if we're doing a shorter version from whinny lee tor we could take the track to cut throat bridge or the telegragh descent we did last time............what do you think?

completly agree with that hodgy! im not one for comparing meself with other riders that iv never ridden with. i do tho like it if i clean something for the fist time or ride a piece of trail better than before. what a brilliant way of enjoying the outdoors and scenery. what i like is that its a great way of keeping fit without it being a chore. looking forward to the next ride with gaz and jack.................weather looks like being kind to us.

4 quid? dont forget im a tight yorkshireman yeah theres the station road, or hope primary school on eccles road in hope......its free. we could always pay a visit before or after the ride. if you're wanting 20-25 miles from hope gaz, it'd be good to start with the mam tor loop then head over to ladybower that would be about 20 miles. or instead include a cheeky derwent edge, that would make it nearer 25 miles. if we dont do either its probs about 15-18 miles..........its your ride mate, your choice.

sorry gonzalo, never used 1x10 or 11 for peaks climbs so cant help, you might find its a bit of trial and error to suit your preferences. there is a way of working out ratios mathematically but i dont know it....................i havnt been much use have i?
