this starts from dales bike centre near reeth www.dalesbikecentre.co.uk/starts with a killer climb up fremington edge then heads over to gunnerside ghyll then back. www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=leegoksnnupmosysthis is basically the route but im looking at tweaking it on the return leg, im open to suggestions. on this occasion, if the weather is horrible on the day im going to call it off and rearrange it for another time. its amongst beautful scenery, and should be well drained. iv only done it once before, so i'll be following my garmin and will bring a map.

i'll wait to see if roundie can make the 16/17th jan seeing as he was the first to show interest. hodgy did you do the gunnerside ghyll descent? if not you missed the highlight of the ride, very techy in parts. its also the return leg id like to get right to make the most of it

no exact date yet roundie, just putting the feelers out for a ride iv been wanting to do for a while. iv got some time off work middle part of january, so can be flexible. from what i remember its rocky alot of the way round so should be well drained, but id like to do it when its reasonably dry as its a pretty tough route. if weathers not good, or others are interested but cant make january we could try for another time.but prefer not to leave it too long.................what does anyone think?

im hoping to do a swaledale ride some time in the coming weeks. iv only done it once before, and this was the route we did www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=leegoksnnupmosysid like to alter it slightly. doing it anti-clockwise, after the gunnerside ghyl descent and before the route crosses over to the southside of the river,is there any good recommendations of how to finish off the route back to grinton?...............cheers!

well done lads....looked a bit grim today, but strange how sometimes the most grim conditions are the most memorable. they definately stay in the memory. iv never done doctors gate, but dont think im bothered. from what iv heard too much of it is too unridable......i might be wrong.

this is gonna sound a bit daft, but practice eating during the rides . i dont eat enough during big rides and have to keep reminding meself. its easy to overlook continuous refuelling.
