If Teva announced their last year earlier, i'd of bought up a couple more pairs. Had a couple now and they've been great. You've gotta be super lucky to find some in your size. What size are you? A local shop has i think 3x pairs. Can check for you. Nearly did a little wee when he said he had a 10, but then checked and didn't. Not really "special-shoes". I wear fat skate shoes every day anyway, so these are a little milder Don't really know if I'm honest...usually size 9/10...but then my Shimano ones for the SPD's are size 45 eur...i will always have to try the shoes, specially with the Sealskinz socks on...but thanks for offering mate!?

The new Giro ones look good too. But no real reviews as of yet. I'd just choose one you like the look of. They all look like "special" shoes...as someone said here before...so true?! LOL Shame the Tevas are no longer available...and it looks like only the 5/10's (or some) have stitched soles...which sound a good idea to me.

Not sure ive youve bought it already but, the CK grease tool is worth getting if you have a CK BB and want to maintain it yourself. Also the Evans guy was right the two plastic shims are to eliminate play if the BB housing is a little wider than the specced BB. Only played with one once an seen it used its a nifty idea but make sure you use a grease they approve guy I saw used TFR2 cant remember if its one of the approved ones of not. Usually you can use a standard gun with a hose to attach to the nipple on the CK unit bit like when you do brakes. Many thanks for this mate, on both matters. I am buying the tool...do you think I should also buy the "ratchet" thing to remove it also or since you don't need to remove the BB from the frame to re-grease it is not worth it? It's around 30 quid!?!...cheap when you compare two pieces of plastic were 15 I guess!?

It's a tough decision because they are both awesome...all the tests and reviews I find seem to say the Vaults are the best ones...I actually found the Mag, Ti Vaults for 130 quid at winstanleys website...as much as I like the black ones, as someone mentioned, when scuffed they will look older and battered sooner...so the silver with gold details would look very sweet on my rig! And they are even lighter than my race SPD's now!?...85kgs/185 lbs of max weight which is OK to me. Burgtec's I think are a nicer design, but heavier, more expensive and black colour only (not sure I could live with the good ones!? Lol)...and I don't know if they are easy to service as the Vaults apparently!
And then, there is the matter of shoes!? 5-10's (which ones??? Look great for dry weather!? But what about mud and rain?), 2FO's (same as 5/10) or the new Shimano ones (which look much more water proof!? With the lace flap cover!?)...I don't like to have too many choices in life!? Lol

Anyone of you guys on here ride both bikes in question ? I think, besides what people say, you need to try them both yourself just to be sure! And understand exactly which one suits your rides mostly...

Thanks in advance to everyone who comment on these on the other section...but just to narrow it down! Help me decide please...
DMR Vaults or Burgtec Penthouse? Ti or not (usually 50 quid increase).... I actually prefer the simplicity of design of the Burgtec's but I'm concerned mostly about grip since I'm ditching the SPD's...Vaults got best in the Enduro mag test...and apparently really easy to service! It's a tough one... Thanks

Hopefully you are the man to answer this...something that is bugging me a bit actually. I noticed that when the mechanic installed the BB, he gave me two very thin plastic white seals that came with the conversion kit...he told me you don't need to install them (?!?!) only if the BB creates some play (on a CK!?) Not sure if they have installed it correctly and it might cause a problem later?! What do you think? I'll be fecking annoyed if so!? Actually, just found this on CK website so I might be ok! Second page, notes in grey, left top corner! www.evolutionimports.co.uk/images/page/Conversion_Kit_12.pdfThere we go lol. You're that good, you answer your own questions lol Not good at all...in fact it got me very worried that the mechanic at Evans was just bs'ing me...but luckily I don't think he was! I can relax knowing my expensive BB won't get fecked!?

I was hoping you had it already to be entirely honest!? Lol It's one of those things I want to buy but never got around too. Plus, I've a spare CK BB should I need it Hopefully you are the man to answer this...something that is bugging me a bit actually. just something else im thinking. there could be a chance that its easy to pump too much grease into the bearings to the point of 'packing' it. the bearing might last for ever but might not run as freely because of too much grease in the bearing. that will also depend on the viscosity of the grease. there is another video on you tube that shows it a bit better and the old grease coming out basically. I guess after you can always wipe the excess!? It should also have some instructions. Thanks for the link on the gun. i think i will buy it...smooth BB for life!?

The new Reverb is meant to have gotten rid of all the (supposed) problems that the current one has! They've upped their game with far more stringent testing and they're built in a sterile environment or some shite like that. I'll see if I can find the details.. Bollocks, I bet I can still bend one. Not a Thomson...! Just try it...go on!

My advice is to just buy it.. If you don't think it's worth having after you've bought it, I'll buy it off you half price If you change BB brand in the future, I'll buy it off you half price Buy it and sell it me, I'll buy it off you half price I was hoping you had it already to be entirely honest!? Lol

Thanks guys for the responses...some different ones! Yeah...I believe it's within my capabilities and you don't have to remove it which is great I think! Movie below if you are bothered! Everything going well, I will keep this BB and this bike for many many years! I would think i would do it every 6 months at least. i think any mechanic would charge at least 20 quid a time...like the cable issue I had, I realise no one will care about your bike as much as you...lol...it's the grease gun with the special "nozzle" that I need to find as well if I buy it since CRC etc don't seem to have it!

So, as I've mentioned before one of my aims going forward is to adventure myself a bit further in terms of maintenance, specially now after the awesome bargain stand I got from Lidl. Chris King has a BB grease injector tool...looks pretty easy and quick to use. You release the crank, the little plastic adaptor, fit it and attach it to a grease gun...needs to have a zerk valve...when you press it, new grease goes in and old comes out...it costs 40 quid for the piece alone!?!? Plus a grease gun with zerk valve which I don't have!
As anyone used this before...is it worth it in your opinion? (Asked Evans if they had the CK device and they don't!?)

Got to say, the photo above is my favourite. Never seen so many helmets in one picture before. let`s face it,with the obvious exception they`ve all got faces that were designed for full face helmets A bit of spit came out when I read that!? Lololoooolllololoollol! But it's obvious that Zulu fancies someone and he is trying to make a move...smooth operator!

I would love one of them in 27+... I spent ages trying to decide if I was getting the Hex or this one...which would be cheaper too...but comfort played its part...and a lot of what it is said in that review, translates to the Hex. It's a fantastic ride... Like I mentioned before, great company and people to deal with!
