I'm laughing at the bit where he says he is 5'11 and it suites him perfect, I'm pretty much the same height as him and I wouldn't dream of using a small Capra, it just wouldn't enspire any sort of confidence. Lol, always thought Capra's came up small too? No wonder he's selling it

Recovering after riding to the top of Helvellyn on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Left Glenridding at about 00:50 on Sunday morning and reached the summit just over 3am. After battling through thick fog and strong winds. The plan was to stay for the sunrise but it never really materialised due to thick fog and cloud and it was bloody freezing up top. Epic descent though via sticks pass. Feel as though I've been hit by a train today Was you with Oscar, I noticed his Strava feed he had done Helvellyn night ride? Sticks pass must be interesting in the dark. Yeah I was, by the time we got to Sticks it was light

Hopefully he would be able to tell the difference on any testing downhills, or the Bronson pretty much defeats its purpose and isn't the great descender most people say. Nice one typed, would love a carbon part myself, actually due to the weight it's supposed to be a lot better pedalled than you would think, although the slackness and long forks will still make it wander a bit on steep climbs. If you could get a set of 160/140 pikes it would help its climbing an heap by steepening the head angle a degree and stiffen up the fork compression. I've just dropped some two position 150/120 onto my scout whilst I loaned the pikes to my Capra and its Gretzky helping my climbing. A bit scary on a techs descent if I forgot to extend the travel again. What colour did you go for? I've actually gone for the 2017 alloy patrol mate, can't justify the added expense of the carbon. It's got to climb way better than my El guapo so I'm not concerned about how long, low and slack the bike is. 2017 colours and frame tweaks haven't been announced yet so I can't tell you lol

Lol, I literally can't wait although it could be October for the frame at the latest. My El guapo is on its last legs so it'll be nice to get on something new

I thought I had made my mind up about my next trail bike build and was set on getting a Transition Patrol, it get's great reviews and looks just as good. I have just sold my DH bike so I was going to pre-order a 2017 frame and build it up myself. Then Santa Cruz have gone and revealed an alloy frame for the 2017 Bronson and now I'm torn. I would have loved a carbon Bronson but I'm loathed to pay over a grand more for a plastic frame so this looks like it could be a goer. Part of me thinks the Bronson would probably be a better all round trail bike than the Patrol which would maybe leave me over biked some of the time. Then again, the Patrol would be more than capable of doing the odd DH uplift day and I'm more than willing to sacrifice a little of the all round capabilities of the Bronson to have a beast of a descender. What does everyone reckon?

What he said, Hot Stepper is absolutely brilliant...... can honestly say it's one of the most fun and rewarding man made trails I've ever ridden. Everything is doable though so just go ride them all

shitter, are you getting it sorted ok? let me know if you need anything. assuming you still have the a6? Yeah it's getting sorted thanks, it's the clutch in the C4 that I use for work/bike duties so it's not going to break the bank. The A6 is sweet as a nut

I was toying with the idea of an expander but so glad I didn't. cheaper and the shifts on the sun race are so smooth! from the research id done on expanders they need rad cages or goat link extenders to get working well, more cost and more tricky to set up smooth. Cheers Dave, I couldn't for the life of me get my expander working, ended up binning it in frustration. Utter shite!! This could be a solution though. Clutch has gone in the car this morning though so this may have to wait till pay day lol
