Lol no problem Al, my username doesn't really give much away. My legs were a little stiff yesterday which is not surprising really No I didn't really rate it at all Neil, the decent from the calf was good initially but then just became a bit meh as it started to flatten out. Stunning place to ride though. The best bit I thought was the ride back from ravenstonedale to sedbergh but by that point my legs had had enough haha The elevation profile from strava shows you how much of a killer the first climb is

It was good crack as always, but too much of a slog for too little reward. Over hyped I reckon. I wouldn't do it again

Not to worry, it was worth a try Have a look at the 661 filter shoes by the way, pretty cheap and very comfortable.

Al, what size feet are you? I have some Five Ten Maltese Falcon (with shimano cleats) in a size 8 if you want to give them a go. They are too narrow on my feet and give me numb toes. I bought them in august when I was up in GT with Tony and have only worn them once

Dirk, I'm not sure. The guy that got back to me didn't say, just said the sizing is being updated is all. Maybe making the large larger a little bit. Typer, is that a 160mm fork you've got on there already? Nah mine is running a 140mm fork but I've seen plenty with 160mm. I got the forks pretty cheap but I wouldn't have had any hesitation in plugging in some 160's if I'd had them lying round

Get the Chameleon, they're awesome..... truly a do it all bike Edit, they'll also take a 160mm fork no problem.

Looks good to me, I'm still of the opinion that everyone doesn't need 160+ of travel for most of the riding they do

Lovely bike - very jealous...... but.... but.... a roadie cassette!?! (Yes, I know it's for the reduced range but still: ) Also, how the hell do you get plugs into those sockets without knackering the cable coming out the plug? .... .... .... I've been spending too much time on STW... Don't worry, having a roadie cassette will be the closest I'll ever get to owning a road bike. Beats me why Shimano don't do a DH specific Saint cassette Lol, As for the sockets, blame the person who rewired the house as they left next to no loose cable to get the bloody things any higher

If you do decide on taking a fall Stu ...MetLife insurance pay out on broken bones ! I have a £ 6.00 a month policy which covers quite a bit of damage ... Just if you fancy a tumble or two like ..it's worth looking into ! Sweet machine ..I'd like it more if I had large enough testicles to ride downhill ! Cheers Neil, fortunately I have a good private health scheme at work and personal accident insurance. Hopefully neither of which will be needed
