Did it a year or so ago absolutely loved it, hell of a hike going up though, and finished off with the air ambulance taking one of us down

I remember that bit, hard work! It then goes back down before climbing to the summit again.

If i remember correctly we set off from Glenridding rode for about a mile or two then it was pretty much a 2.5hr hike a bike to the summit, well worth it though

As long as we take the ascent steadily, plenty of stops it'll be fine for us more, ahem, mature and rotund riders.
I must admit at times going up Snowdon it felt like some kind of endurance challenge or a feckin race. Just too much of a lung busting rush for me. Another very good reason to do the 'big' ride on the Saturday so blokes aren't panicking about what time they'll be getting home to their long haired generals.

When i did it, it was 28 degrees and no wind, we just took our time and had a laugh on the way up, it's a pretty easier push apart from the last couple of hundred feet where it gets really steep, then you just shoulder your bike and dig in as the ground is loose as fk!
Another point to note is put plenty of mozzi repellent on because as soon as you stop they will attack you... Little b'stards that they are!

This one is the top of the climb just before the summit, it was a killer climb and a butt clenching knarly descent Another pic of the climb just to put things in perspective

Those pictures are brilliant - it looks an savage climb. All common sense says to me 'why?' but I s'pose it's why people climb mountains - cos they're there!
Got it in my head now anyway - I'm doing it, gives me a target and a reason to try and shape up a bit.

I posted this on the FB page last night after it popped up on another page.
It looks an epic ride!
If I'm free and fit enough I might try and join this one.
