I was thinking of putting my tent up some where ... for the Saturday night don't mind which day we do helvellyn just trying to get a date sorted and plan from there matE so going for 21/22 May just need to find some where to stop and some where to ride and which day you guys fancy doing it which way round ..

Amazingly - I'm off that weekend!! Won't commit right now though, if I think I can do the ride, I will, I'll see how things are around April time.

Pez ..I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do ...but I've always found that if you do commit to something it then brings you more into focus in terms of ensuring you then get fit to do it ... It would be a shame if you didn't ..it was your baby after all ...

There's a campsite in Glenridding, not 100% but I think it may have a bunk house as well.perfectly placed for Helvellyn and Ullswater lakeside route

Oh I know Hodgy, I agree entirely and I am really determined to give it a good go - I'm also a realist and you have to tinge the 'want' with the 'how it is' sometimes. There'll be nothing half arsed about the next few months but some things are beyond mind over matter. I'm pretty positive about it though so that goes a long way to getting you where you want to be.

I'm not making myself promises I might not be able to keep - let alone promising anyone else anything. Better than saying yes (words are easy) then pulling out later. Don't forget this was my idea and I obviously want to do it - but I'll wait and see.
I've learnt one thing though from the Snowdon trip - a good night's sleep before an epic days riding is essential, not one of us had more than a couple of freezing, uncomfortable hours in that barn, so whatever I do sleep wise before a major ride - it won't be in a barn or a feckin tent!

I'm happy to let Gaz take it on - not much point in me doing all the legwork if I'm not 100% on being there. Take it away Gaz! I'll watch it with interest, then if it's a huge success I'll come back in and claim all the glory

I'll just come up for the day if I'm not working that would still be an option for me, thats if i can even make it at all, yet to check my work situation. but the ullswater singletrack route that me and windy spoke about is supposed to be an excellent ride if a weekend is to be made of it.

Looks excellent Glynn and about a 1,000 times more comfy than the barn we didn't sleep in at Snowdon
