Saturday the 19th of March, meeting at Pooley Bridge at 9.30 for 10am set off. Exact meet point will be decided depending on how many people turn up but it will be very near Pooley Bridge. A rough idea of the route is Pooley up to the stone circle and then take in the excellent bridleway that runs down to Howtown. From there we'll climb up to Boredale Hause by one of two options then back down the other. Next is the rocky techy bridleway that is Ullswater shore before climbing back up to Boredale Hause via Patterdale. Again there's a choice of descents back down to Howtown before a road section along the shore road back to the cars. Route will be between 20-30 miles (weather dependent!) at a easy pace so we can take in the scenery Here's a taster cheers Gaz

That's a brilliant ride Gaz ..unfortunately I'm not going to make that or any other ride on that day as its the nearest weekend to my sons birthday and we will be doing something as yet unplanned ( probably karting ) with him .. Hope you get the right weather for it ..

Just remember the bridge is out so you have to go in the back way (fnar!). There is a temporary one being built but not due to open until easter.

A couple of pictures from todays test ride of the Ullswater shore bridleway. I tried out the bridleway to Martindale today which adds about 8 mile onto the route. It tested my dislike of heights to the limit as just round the corner there is nothing to the left of the track, well nothing until you hit the bottom 800 ft below . It also shows the climb up on the other side of the valley www.strava.com/activities/503652206

The path along ulswater is a rocky tech fest. It's also bloody good fun even if you're inept on a bike like I am.
