Anybody up for a mid week ride up the hill sometime in the last two weeks of April. Preferably the last week of April Tues to Thursday.
I appreciate a mid week rules out a large group however as long as there's a wee bit of company (back up) I'm happy.

19 20th or 26/27th how much notice do you need to give to book it off, as it would be good to check the forecast leading upto it and go with the clearest and less windy day.

Apologies for sounding a bit thick...but where exactly are you planning this ride? i could possibly do it any of those dates...but like you said, it would be good to get a good weather...im usually OK with short notice to book a day off.

it usually starts from llanberis, as thats the most ridable route up mount snowdon.then theres a few options to go back down. straight back down the way you've come up, rangers path and telegragh valley or rhyd dhu and telegragh valley. at least thats what im presuming.......mount snowdon, not snowdonia

For the first tine up there I was thinking of the standard rangers, telegraph. Although the Rhyd Du option looks good but more technical especially the start which seems to be carry and ride.
Yeh mount Snowdon not an cx ride all around Snowdonia.

I'll keep my eye on this. Would be nice to go up Snowdon again! Rangers was a good way down.. Something in me just wants to blast from top to bottom on Llanberis though Nowt technical, just balls out speed and the odd hop and jump!

Involved us setting off at 5.30am 3hrs driving each way..2x 1hour Caledonian Macbrane ferry crossings ..Arran mtb club's Classic Route ( well most of it !) Fish & chips on the pier at Brodick and a mostly 100mph dash back down the M74...I made it back through my door at 11.50 pm... 3hrs 20 mins ...pah..child's play ...haha

Yeah, I appreciate that. Everytime I've been up Snowdon It's been busy with walkers! It's just one of those things I'd like to do!

summat else iv just thought of. going down llanberis would be over all too quick for anyone travelling any distance to get there and for the amount of work it takes to climb. going down one of the others would at least take longer with them being more technical and even including a bit of uphill.

Let's try and be flexible then for the end of the month, maybe the third weeks maybe better than the last week incase there a rush on everybody getting it in before the embargo starts from may. 1st.

So, you've just got to the top of Snowdon, then you want a way down that includes 'a bit of climbing'? I think I'm hanging about with the wrong people.

Gaz (marmite one) how about we pick a date now say the 20th april so you can book it off. however if the weather appears to be a disaster then those that can may have to change the date for snowdon and we/you can do somewhere a little lower or more sheltered on that day.
This way it leaves the following week as another option if needed.
What do we think?

I might be struggling for the 20th as I've just found out its our 22nd wedding anniversary so we're away for a long weekend and won't be back until the 20th. (On the plus side we are going to the Lakes )
