Thought you had killed the Bell at BPW, never mind then, I'll order one from Tweeks, they are doing the chin guards for under £50. Which helmet did you kill then?

Looks like a trend has started and I'm also now looking for an helmet! It will be the Bell Super 2...just wondering if I should get with MIPS (extra 20 quid) or not...and with chin guard straight away or not as well!? Can't really see myself using the chin guard unless I have to...am I right in saying that BPW you need to use one otherwise you can't ride, or not?

You don't have to use it but after seeing what happened to Andys face I would wear one mate

Ended up with the new Fox Metah myself. Was tempted by the bell super 2R, popped into a shop and tried one on, my head was too big, chin guard was very close to my chin, felt quite uncomfortable!

Need some help on a helmet myself. Had an off today, head first into a tree, my Troy Lee A1 has a lovely dent, so time for a new one. What would people suggest? I'm looking at the POC Trabec, but I'm unsure on sizing? I wear a L A1. If you're considering the POC. Have a look at the new Tectal. Better cover and more vents than the Trabec. www.pinkbike.com/news/poc-tectal-helmet-review-2016.htmlThat's a really nice looking lid - my only issue with the trabec was too warm in summer and made me look like Supermario - they seem to have adressed these issues. If it's as comfy as the trabec - winner!

Got any pics? Like the looks of the metah but can't work out if it's a bit bulky or just the press photos.

This? very nice - sounds a tad heavy at 390g? (Bell is no weight weenie at 380, but must admit, doesn't feel heavy to me) but rave reviews - you'll have to give us a verdict Seb. Fox Metah

so annoyed...i was dead set on the Bell Super 2...probably without MIPS for 55 quid...bargain. Went to Evans today to try it, L is too big, and M doesn't fit my head. The helmet is quite narrow and the top of my head can't actually touch the top!? Back to the drawing board!? It really is true...you should always try them first!? So i just need to find the way to try all these now (none with MIPS but not too bothered about it to be honest)... Cratoni AllTrack - reviewed here and online reviews are also very good. Looks like it has great ventilation besides a few other features like GoPro mount, and crash replacement - 103 quid Fox Metah - looks great on the image...shame Fox don't seem to offer crash replacement - 105 quid POC Tectal - interesting shape and sounds like its an improvement from the Trabec in terms of ventilation so it should be great. Don't know if they offer crash replacement. Is POC the SC of helmets by any chance? However on Amazon you can find it at 120...much cheaper than the usual +150 price.

Saw a Fox Metah on the trails today - looks a real nice lid, not too bulky etc. Unfortunately the bloke wearing it had the matching shirt, gloves and shorts on. In football fan terms he's known as...a full kit wanker.

all this talk of helmets has got me thinking i wouldnt mind getting a new one. the bell super 2 looks good. i like the idea of it converting to full face but i dont think i'll ever use it as full face. i tried one on yesterday and it felt ok but a bit heavy. 360g is the spec weight but im used to my 312g giro feature...........decisions? i also wouldnt mind a new drive train....and dropper post.....and new wheels...........................................OH GOD!

I'm in between the POC Tectal...light and fits really well and comfortable. But most expensive at 120 and no MIPS!? Ouch! Waiting for the Cratoni Allroad and the new Fox to arrive for comparison!

To me...CRC, free returns...Evans have a poor choice there really, I went there the other day to try the Bell which didn't fit me at all! Researched a lot on the web and from what I read, those two models above are great choices! But 100 quid lids...also read a lot about MIPS...and I'm not totally convinced! There is a Giro with MIPS for 80 quid that looks good...but better ventilation on the Cratoni or POC! Some bargains online for the POC Trebec...
