im not convinced either, i suspect another marketing ploy.the super2 without chinguard or mips can be bought for 60 quid tho I know...but really doesn't fit my skull otherwise that's the one I would go for...

Glynn, I can tell you that I don't feel the extra grams on the Bell compared to the Giro Hex I mislaid, fits me lovely and the brow ports work brilliantly. I've ordered the chin piece too, for BPW days.

I wear the bell super a lot as it seems to have better air flow than my TL A1 but for snugness and fit the a1 is by far more fitted, just a perfect fit for me anyway. I feel the bell super wobbled a bit until a synch it up tight which I only do on the downs as if I leave it tight I end up pressure marks around my forehead for hours afterwards.

so the try before you buy advice is getting harder, as bike shops seem to carry less stock and rely more on website sales. but anyway i tried a medium in evans and found the super2 at tweeks for 50 quid. must say the staff in evans were a bit clueless, the first assistant didnt realise that the full-face and chinguard-less helmet was the same thing, and the second assistant hadnt heard of MIPS even tho he'd got the helmet himself. they did offer a price match tho as long as ...blah...blah...blah. so now waiting for delivery and on the lookout for a medium chin-guard, even tho im not very likely to need it.

Good choice, cheapest I've seen the chin guard is back at Tweeks, for a couple of quid less than 50.

Which colour did you go for Glynn? at that price they were going quick - I really wanted the grey and red but they had gone.

Actually, thinking back on it, what did Mr Watson have? It definitely works! It (was) a Pok Trabbec.
Mrs W bought it for my birthday and I bust it first time out!
I seriously couldn't tell you if it did a good job or not.

[edit] ah looks like my first choice is the only one out of those in stock

Shame that is Glynn, as we all know though, so difficult to get a lid that fits just so, we all have very different bonces.

I have to say the POC Tectal fits really nicely and is very comfortable...unfortunately, as my colleagues all said, i look a bit disabled!? (they didn't quite used those terms?!) LOL Then I've put the Cratoni Alltrack on and everyone shouted...MUCH BETTER!? Its also cheaper, very comfortable, good details like the GoPro/light mount and looks great too! So I'm happy!? This time was a bit easier than the pedals...im getting better at this!? Glynn, if you want to try this one and the POC, they are still at my house...

The POC is 120! Size is 55-58cm...but I also have 59-61...which I'm planning to send back. Would you still want to try any of them?

Looks nice the Cratoni but my absolute limit for a lid is 60 quid. Having said that - the lid and chin guard together have come to just about a 100 quid but I can justify that as it's like having two lids in one

If you want comfort, maybe the POC Trebec (refer to hodgy's post earlier for bargain deal) is the way to go...assume it's the same fit as the Tectal, and that one was really nice fit...but apparently not as good ventilation which put me off...solved on the Tectal (but expensive). However they look a bit strange, a bit like a jockey lid! The only reason why I considered spending a bit more is because I sold my Spesh.

The Trabec is still the most comfortable lid I've ever worn, but feck, do they get warm in the summer.

But that issue is solved on the Tectal...which has a lot more vents since its like their road helmet! Jus looks very odd on me. But I would have to say, I think it's the best lid out there! Shows on the price (not even including MIPS!?)

I tried one on in my LBS when I was looking for my current helmet. It was very comfy, looks great and the shop said it was really popular. For the price it's an excellent looking lid
