Feck that was quick!! Oh well decision made for me - I ain't going TBH I would probably have been better off in the 'sport' on the Satdee anyway. At least you lot can tell us what it's like and then I can have a goo in 2016 (if I'm still kicking about). I've decided I have to do one 'event' before I hang up the forks for good. I liked the look of the over 50's as it gives me a level playing field.

You were - I looked on there a few minutes after you booked and it was still open - 5 minutes later it wasn't!

Booked the Sunday Enduro, I went for the early time slot. However if you don't mind I will change to middle and add the team name, that's if there is space on the team and you don't mind possibly being slowed down on the pedally bits? Is there a limit to how many team members you can have, I think this is another good aspect and adds a bit of extra interest. Its seems like a good format in that you basically have just over 5 hours to do 24 miles so there's no great time pressure over the total distance, you can take it easy coming up to the timed sections which are the only bits that count take a breather before hand if needed and then go hell for hell leather. Like a social ride with opportunity to ride the timed sections to the best of your own ability. Having a slight mechanical through the untimed bits doesn't right off your total time.
I might get there Saturday morning and practice the trickier sections so I no my limitation and don't hold back unnecessarily on the Sunday, then camp on the Saturday with a few beers to help sleeping it will be great to meet up with fellow forumites.
Excited and motivated, now if I could only get out on the bike sometime soon.

I'm on the waiting list. No real hopes of getting a place though, tbh.

We are planning on riding the parts of the course on accesible land a couple of times before the event to work on grip and how it rides, then use the Saturday as a general reccy and practice for the sections on private land

Sounds like a good plan you have there. I have a route from MBR that covered Reeth but not knowing the area I have no idea how much if any makes up part of the route.
When you know when you are going for a look up there and if you don't mind me tagging on please give me a shout if I can make it I will. where are you travelling from if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the Burnley area so around an hour and a half to two hours for me.

Enjoy, you lot. I did it last year and it is a brilliant event. The atmosphere is quite special. Be aware that they are some of the toughest 24 miles you will ride, so don't be stopping too much because that 5 hour time limit can creep up on you... Lots of steep climbs.

Thank you very much. If only I felt like I did well last year- rode terribly. :-(
I'm not doing it this year as my race calendar is already very full, unfortunately. Enjoy, all.
