I usually have a torq energy bar ( gives good energy and doesn't taste like sh1t) prior to riding or mid ride depending on my last meal time. I've also found having a protein milkshake post ride has stopped the tired muscle effect. (I use whey protein from myprotein.com) Yeah I always "protein up" after a ride, this comes from my weight training days (a million years ago now )

So what do people use when their "get up and go" has got up and gone, muscles are getting tired, cardio is weakening ?
Whip out a sarny and a narna, a carb gel, a handful of jelly beans (then sugar crash 15mins later ) .. what helps you on the trail/climbs ?
Depending on the length/severity of the ride, mine is usually a flapjack or two, and a sarny if out on a day trip ride, and just water ... tho I am considering some SIS Gels to try, or maybe summut in the water/separate bottle perhaps ??

^^^ I have no idea whats happening with my feckin laptop at the mo
What that message above was supposed to say, was that yes, Wales is an amazing place indeed, I love it there
Tho I didn't understand the couple of references he made about being proud to be part of creating the highest new trail in the country ... or summut like that ??

I think I saw the end of Jungle Run .. it ends at the little bridge over a stream dosent it ? If it's where I think, god knows how you get to the start tho!
I may have seen the exit of the closed trail you mentioned also (?) Is it a fairly hefty steal gate/barrier just off the fire road they've put in ?

Went up the Wyre for a Reccy this morning, nice and early to avoid the hauds as it was a lovely cold sunny morn Tried to remember what Kalli had told me above, and I'm sure I saw the trails I've been looking for for ages (cheers again Kalli ), but the combination of heavy leaf fall totally covering decents I've never even seen before, and tbh, what looked suspiciously like saplings and brash had been laid across the pretty steep exits .. I decided to just have a ride around that area and get a feel for it, as I haven't been in that wood b4 (prob why I never found the trails in the past ) I do feel a bit like I wasted a ride cus it's rarely dry there this time of year, but it was nice to get over that way again regardless, and opened up a new area to me .. win

Think I will getting some MTR's also in due course, tho I'll give these Tenn cheapo's a crack for a bit first On another note, is it just me that doesn't have the option of using smilies anymore or have I pressed summut ? Now that's just freaky .... on appeared in that post and I didn't even see the window to select it

I've had a Gore lightweight jacket for years ... "Windstpper" and waterproof, still looks like new, amazing garment really, and I'm well used to quality technical clothing from my climbing and hill walking days
Even in the middle of winter I'll be riding in it, just with an extra base layer if its boltic out !

I bet loads of RS fanboys will want to get the Lyrics...don't need to say it, but yeah, your forks are totally unsuitable for the Nuke beast. You could try and give TFTuned a ring and ask if they have anything second hand...maybe even one of their mechanics. I didn't know they sold off their mechanics...any experience of this G ..as to how much the weekly food bill is and are they happy sleeping in a shed ..? I'm quite open to the idea but wouldn't want to give them full family status ..but having a pro in the shed to keep the bike in full working order really appeals . Good shout mate.... "having a pro in the shed" .... I'd rather go for your idea Hodgy to be perfectly honest

I too am in the market for some waterproof gear as the wet weather starts to roll in. I want to up my time spent on the bike so will be looking at some of the above. Mine came today, first impressions are pretty good, very light weight and comfortable, if a tiny bit snug around the arse (treat for the ladeeez )
Not sure how they'll put up with the abuse ahead of them compared to shorts 3x the price, but we'll see
I couldn't help testing the water repellence, by holding them under a tap .. and TBH, they were quite impressive with the water running straight off like a ducks back, not really a test I know, but for £23 and free post, on the face of it they look like a winner at the mo !

Tried every trick in the book with these of mine TBH, and have just lost their bite somehow
Like I said, there was a time when these brakes were a liability in some situations they were so sharp, which coming from a supermoto background I loved (hence always running a large front rotor)
The Nukey's will be here prob tomorrow, so wont throw um away, but keep them for emergency back up pads only

have they glazed over? if so try roughing them up by laying a sheet of course emery paper or glass paper on a flat surface and rubbing the pads till they roughen. Yeah tried that one to bud
