Just think back a couple of weeks to Nick's " off " on the Hawkshead ride for your answer ... I never used to wear any kind of pads...even going a year or so back ..now I wouldn't be without . That showed the potential difference really as I also had a couple of offs and my elbow pads were full of gravel and grazes rather than my flesh. having said that if I know I'm going on a pretty tame ride i used to go without any. I'm starting to elbow pads more often now. unlike knee pads which getting a comfortable one seems a little tricker, you don't tend to notice you are wearing elbow pads especially if you do t go for full on bulky types. Just think ink theyll had to the circumference of your arms making the gun show even more impressive?

Unless you have wings on your bike, you can't ride up slippery stones, can you? Assume we are doing the exact same route as last time? Not sure if i can make it in fact since i had a ride already booked with Nick. Also, it has been raining a bit lately. Bring nick along g and kill two birds with one stone. Do you not thing Gaz could make it up those steps then? To be honest they did look a bit steep and technical. Almost Everything there after was also steep until you get near that paved section.

Changed to a ride around pen y ghent. A nice circular route with a mix of a few good descents, good views.
About 22 miles 3000ft climbing.
Will be starting from Clapham church Road up from the NT car park. Meet at 9.30M.

I think know the troy Lee a1 is pretty much head shaped as in it fits snug so doesn't have that perched on top feel. The profile is also fairly rounded so the shape or size is not overly exaggerated.
Whilst of course most importantly offering good protection and coverage of the lower part of your noggin.

I doubt you want to head back to the lakes then on the saturday. How about peaks, marsden or try somewhere new in the dales.

Ah ah it will be ironic if you need to add two links back on.
Maybe you should have assessed if it was loose or not with the shock fully open and totally compressed.
They also suggest to do this on the largest sprocket however the chance of bottoming out the shock whilst climbing on the dustbin lid is pretty remote.

Good idea.
Are you off anywhere exciting tomorrow?
I have to go other to knot end way in the afternoon to the in laws so I'm on orders to have a quick localism one and be home for lunch.
Fancy somewhere decent for the following Saturday.

I'm in I bet you want to crush that cobbled climb. I think you can do it if it's fairly dry. I'll be right behind you. Well at the start then I'll be off and pushing after the first twenty metres.

Difficult to say without seeing it, are you saying the chains running off the small sprocket, if so the extra tension maybe effecting it so you may need to wind your lower adjustment in u till it stays on. Or try backing the barrel adjustment tension off a little. Ah, I was right the first time then.

Caught in two minds.
Love the lakes and fancy a good ride there next Saturday or the 1st.
However with so much good stuff and routes I haven't done part of me fancies something around Kentmere way.
Having said that I wouldn't mind having another go at some of those descents now I have had a look, the bikes set up better and hopefully I won't have an off in the first half hour that upsets my Mojo.
I'll decide nearer to the time.

G Zulu is saying is the mech itself sitting behind the little stopper part of the mech hanger, it has to be sat behind it or the mech and tension will be all over the place.
I expect it's right though as there would have been no reason for you to remove the mech from the hanger to remove a couple of links from the chain. Dos you it the chain back on running in that right direction? If I remember rightly it doesn't matter at all for 10 speed but some of the 11 speed set ups the chain has to be in the correct orientation as indicated by the markings on the chain.

Welcome aboard. Another that defected from gunners dictatorship.
I do remember your avatar but can't remember where you are riding.
As glynn says there's much more of a chance of a group ride.im on here if that's your thing. Particularly if you are in striking distance of cannock, peaks, Lancashire or Yorkshire, the lakes, kielder/ Hexham or even into Scotland.

I would guess, in order of most dangerous
Ti x10 Alloy Carbon (not much probably the human riding it is more likely to get struck).
