Is it because the rider is not fit enough to climb to the top of the hill? The weight of the bike ? Something else ?

Something else ? Non, it's a separate discipline, this DH starts at the top of the hill... they're there to experience the Descents only... not XC, mile crunching loops in the peaks. Saying that uplifts are part of downhills, is like my including my travel time to the peaks in my car...

Something else ? No uplift days are a complete different thing as one it's a normal down hill track end off !!! We will agree to disagree if your a bloody cripple fine I can understand why some one would want to use one or old and fitness is shit fine but if your a lazy fat bastard then no no excuse get off ya fat arse and ride a normal bike will do you a lot more benefits than riding a bike with a motor .,, mum not even going to have any more debate!! ps I love the nomad and 5010 but can't afford them demo day just one more thing 750 notes for a new battery ffs I wonder how long one will last be fore you kill it !! Crazy

id like to see an Ebike carry me 45 miles up hills!! be dead half way round... wouldn't enjoy pushing a 20kg bike home!! So every off road ride you do is 45 miles ? Wow that's some going ! I wouldn't expect the battery to last that long either ( without carrying a spare ) You lads still haven't got it yet ..stop trying to compare like for like ...not once have I said in all of these conversations that I intended using an e-bike to replace my normal bike ..I would love one to have a choice as to the type of riding I wanted to do because of the fun factor involved and to be honest wouldn't give a flying fuck what you or anyone else thought ...and that sports is my final word on the subject .

If you've had a final word.. Than so shall I... They're for fat or old or lazy bastards and look gash... Yes I've tried one.. And felt a right numpty... And I ride 29ers and fat-bikes... Did I mention they're heavy and shit?

Without trying to add fuel to the argument can I ask what people think of suspension, disc brakes and gears? They are all innovations to help you get up and down a hill quicker and in a more controlled manor than you could on a singlespeed rigid bike. Aren't ebikes a logical extension of that evolution? Doesn't mean you have to get one/like them but if they get more people out into the hills and enjoying themselves surely that's a good thing? (runs and hides) Nope, people shouldn't require persuasion to get out... I don't go to the gym, and put on my bionic biceps.. An e-bike was designed for one person... To make biking easier.. And suspension, gears, disc brakes, bigger tyres, etc aren't?

theyre upgrades... They don't reduce the effort you put in, and perhaps increase the effort you put in.

Let's see if I have got this right ...upgrades that make your bike more efficient, lighter, easier to ride ..could in fact lead you to WANT to increase the amount of effort you put in to riding it . Is that what you are saying ..?

I'm in the same boat ...I'd have a 5010 in a heartbeat..there is still hope and I won't settle for less . I tried the first version of the carbon Nomad a couple of years back and wasn't that impressed..doesn't come close in terms of climbing and as I've no intention of ever moving my current Nomad on ( we've been on too many epic trips together!) I would want something different...

I'd love a proper high end bike, a Yeti, SC, etc but the chances are slim to none, with the lad going to Uni and needing funding, I'm just about managing to maintain the Chief and Zero let alone get a 4.5 grand bike Oh well, there's always the Lottery or, do I really need both kidneys and a spleen?

Lads I'm calling time on this. It was a good debate, with a bit of funny leg pulling but it's gone a bit too far now. I know you both, ridden with you both and you're great lads the pair of you - you're also both better than this and I'm pretty sure in the real world, would get on like a house on fire. I don't enjoy two peeps who I like and respect calling each other names. You pair of cocks
